I have to say that this game is by far the best Star Trek game on the market. It is also one of the best first person shooter games out there. Like other reviewers have said though you need a good system and a great graphics card to play it. I have a 550 Amd k62 with 128 mb of ram and an ATI all in wonder 16mb video card. It is a little jerky when there are a lot of opponents in the room. It was a little smoother on my friends 1ghz Athalon with the same video card and 256 mb of ram. The single player game may be too easy for hard core game people, but for us average folks it’s great game play. I’m most impressed with the multiplayer games. They run smoother graphics wise and is great fun playing on the internet or disconected. The first patch is out for this game but I have not yet downloaded it, maybe it will help with some of the jerkyness in the single player mode. This game with it’s single and multiplayer options is almost like getting two games in one as the two modes are so different. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the system requirements and some ocassional jerky graphics in single player mode.

had a blast playing it, get repetitive but oh well, its still cool to explore more of the trek universe from a unique point of view

I’ve played most of the Trek games out there; this is by far the most fun and playable. The single-player game plays out much like a weekly espisode of voyager, with titles, intros, cut-scenes, and character interaction. The way the characters interact during the game is incredibly engaging; you’re able to eavesdrop on casual conversations between crew members and such. The atmosphere and story are pure Trek, and the game tries hard to incorporate many of the fan’s favorite parts of the series: Borg, Hirogen, 8472, universal cataclysms, evil aliens that can only be stopped by the rightousness and creativity of the Federation, etc. Most of the character’s voices are the actual show’s cast, which is cool. The multiplayer holomatches are even more fun and entertaining.Ok, the downsides – the first person game is really short and easy. That is, up until the final boss, when the game becomes completely impossible to win because 1) that boss can kill you with one attack and 2) that boss’s attacks always land. The levels are small and completely linear, so its impossible to get lost or confused because there’s always just one way you can go. The character dialog is Trek-like, but doesn’t really par up to the show. And the different alien species don’t behave differently enough to make fighting them interesting (with the exception of the Borg). This game also requires one beefy system to run smooth. I was playing on a 500mhz/96MB ram with a voodoo 2, and every time the act.

The first 3D shooter game I’ve ever played was Doom. Since then I was an addict of these types of games (Hexen, Heretic, Quake, Duke Nukem, Blood, Jedi Knight…you name it) until I kind of "grew out" of it. I guess I just got sick of them in a way because there are just so many out there. So I never set my eye on these kinds of games again. But being a hardcore Star Trek fan, Elite Force really caught my attention. I just thought, "What the heck?", pulled two twenties out of my pocket, and took it home. I was really shocked! This game was fun! I just could not stop playing. Not only did it have good graphics, speed, etc., but it actually felt like I was part of an episode of Star Trek Voyager. That’s what made it so fun to play for me, along with the heart-pumping action (unlike most 3D shooters, the monsters aren’t those slow, zombie-type, moaning/growling type…monsters in this game actually scream, bum rush you and tear you up!).I am almost absolutely certain that any Star Trek fan would love this game. Even if you finish the game once, you’d still wanna play it again. If you get bored of that, then you’ll end up downloading all the maps provided on Elite Force fan sites…every day it’s something new in those sites. I’d definitely recommend this game to Trekkers out there, regardless of whether or not you like 3D shooters or not. The demo is not enough, trust me.

A good QIII based game… you are able to use phaser weapons and have the star trek actors talk to you… you also are able to save voyager may times over. its a great game and deserves more acclaim than it got.

may trekkkers waited for an action game with startrek characters, now thei prays have been answered, the good points are 1-you get to fight borg in 1st person 2-you get to fight with seven 3-you get to see voyager and lots of alien shipps and planets 4-you get to use cool startrek weapons 5-from activision, which also brought us quake 2 and 3, soldier of fortune, and battlezone 1,2

Well everything technical has been said and it’s a wonderful game, although a little confusing at first. But my favorite part is when you chose your favorite character (B’ellana) and use her/him to shoot at characters you hate (Chackotay,Seven and Neelix for example). All in all it’s a good game.

I think this game is great for a lot of reasons, but overall I think the attention to variety in the alien ships and the complexity of having to figure out how in the world am I going to get way up to that next level where all those aliens are ready to kill me.Most people complain its not all played on Voyager, but I don’t think there would be much variety if it were on just one ship. Its a good heart pounding game, especially when myriads of Borg or Harvesters just keep popping up and your Tetryon disruptor ammo is just about gone. It has a good storyline. But the greatest thing about it is the surprises at the end of each mission which makes it more real than a planned out scripted TV show type mission.I think the Photon rifle and Tetryon Disruptor are the two most valuable weapons, along with the Stasis weapon in some places. I actually defeated the Hunter though with a standard Starfleet hand phaser. This game is definitely worth buying. My only big problem with it is…For some reason on several of the missions I have had my own crew members fire at me to no end. I don’t know why…I thought it was a fluke until for the third time it happened when I had fought my way to the Firing Chamber on the Derelict Space Cannon. I was loading the energy round all the while Ensign Chang kept blasting me in the back with a Phaser rifle mistaking me for a enemy target…maybe he’d snapped or something. All in all it has a good story line which is what makes any game. If you like.

When I first started playing on this game along time ago, I thought the missions were a little boring and that’s the first and one of very few draw backs I found. Heck, the graphics are great, the sound is good, level designs impressive and large, but the fun factor I think is just a little boring and tedious and you end up fighting your way through the surprisingly short game to end up with a quite frankly awful and short end sequence. The game is great for Trekies but if you’re just after a good FPS, look elsewhere, unless…The multi-player makes up the lack of single player ‘enjoyment’ I think. Not just for playing on-line but for playing against the computer or even with the computer in team games. The customisation option is great, you can even change the amount your man gets pushed back when shot, and the speed you can run and the speed at which ammo is re created. There are in the region of 10 multi-player maps and are all worth playing. This fine example of making a game totally repayable is something all FPS games should employ, it allows infinite gaming joy as you can find your sweet spot skill level and try to beat it in free for all, team, or capture the flag modes.Good multiplayer game, not bad single player game.

This game ROCKS! Pure and simple. The graphics are wonderful, the story line is intriguing, it plays at multiple skill levels to make it fun for all and the online gaming is wonderful. I love the fact that during the game there is downtime and you can just wander through the ship until an alert happens or Tuvok calls for you.I’ve never played a game online before, this is my first and it hooked me. I’m not that good against all these veteran gamers out there but I have a ton of fun none the less. I love playing the capture the flag mode online. This is a must have game for anyone who likes first person shooter games. The only draw back is the requirements for your computer. When I got it for a present it didn’t work because my graphics card is not supported, but after I downloaded the updated drivers for my graphics card it worked fine.Thank you to all of you who helped make this game. I LOVE IT!
