Since the creation of consoles, I really had stopped playing PC games but this is an excellent game! The action is non-stop and the AI is onpoint. The only draw back is that I had to buy a new video card because my old card didn’t support OpenGL. I would recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of first person shooters. I preferred the DS9 series but this game from the Voyager series rocks! Before you buy this game, make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements. If you are like me and have been in XBOX and Playstation world, give this PC game a try. You won’t regret it.
With absolute certainty, this is the absolute best first person role playing and first person shooter combined for the Star Trek game genre. There were high expectations for the second installment of Elite Force and I believe that the second one would have been beter with an improved storyline. The original EF story line is awesome and certainly keeps your interest for the duration of the game. The better graphics of the second one and the fact that it is picking up after Voyager returns to Earth (at the game’s beginning) and you end up working on the Enterprise for our favorite bald captain with open space before you and a new group of Elite Force members who are not quite as interesting as the other one on VGER. Anyway, multiplayer online play is STILL ongoing for STEF 1 but there was hardly any for the second. If you are looking for single player action, get both games as they will be worth your money if you at least like Star Trek and you will enjoy them. If there was a third installment, and it used the latest graphics technologies available, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Overall, Star Trek Elite Force is a pretty standard game, nothing extremely fancy, and nothing falls short. While it is by far the best Star Trek game ever release, that doesn’t say much about the embarrassing series. Star Trek uses the Quake 3 engine, so the graphics are up to par, and the AI is well balanced. The single player is somewhat short, about 10 hours of gameplay, but it is still fun and exiting, with the exeption of some cheesy moments that have become a tradition in the TV series. The game takes place on Voyager, so you can expect to see some annoying characters such as Tuvok and Captain Janeway, as well as some not so annoying people like Seven of Nine (shall we say, shall we say). The multiplayer in this game, however, is in my opinion, a COMPLETE copy off of Quake 3 Arena. The deathmatch, the CTF, the announcements, its all there. Not to say that isnt a bad thing, Q3A is an outstanding game, I’m just surpised at the simalarities. The only difference is that the Elite Force version has the skills toned down a little, for beginners. I would recomend this game to any newbie interested in the shooter genre, for its relatively simple gameplay, and low price. Hardcore gamers might be interested as well to get this cheifly to buy the outstanding expansion pack.
Star Trek: Elite Force is an excellent Star Trek Adventure. It puts you in the role of a member of the crew who’s job is a leader of a sort of S.W.A.T. team. The game starts out with a simulation aboard a Borg ship. The graphics are very nicely done in this sequence and continue to be so throughout the entire game. You then get a chance to walk around Voyager on your way to a job duty. It looks and sounds just like the television show. It is awesome. The individual missions are well written and are very exciting. You will get to protect voyager from intruders as well as protecting other team members on away missions. Elite Force also features multiplayer options, like Unreal Tournament and Quake III. The levels are nicely drawn and they seem to run even faster than the actual game. I am running the game on a Celeron 400 with 64 megs of RAM and a Voodoo 4 with 32 megs. It is quite choppy at times, especially if there are a lot of enemies in the room at the same time. I am not sure if it is my machine to blame or if a patch is needed. Despite those flaws, this is one of the best Star Trek games ever. It has been a long time coming. Play long and prosper!

I have played this game back when it first came out never got to finish it and How with better and faster computer IPlain to finish it.I may be older now but the fun is still in me.
I was really impressed with Voyager Elite Force. Excellent graphics really make you feel like you’re on board Voyager. Great interaction with the rest of the characters, very detailed alien ships and cool weapons. Only minor cons I found were the various swicthes and items you interact with wouldn’t always respond right away and the appearance of enemies that would attack you got to be a bit predictable. However, it has great multi-player options, with different types of games (DM, CTF) and lots of additional maps are available. I highly recommend Voyager Elite Force!
What a game. it was so fun to play. the controls are easy and game has alot of things to interact with. It raley crashes or does things like that. the graphics are really good. the ship is really fun to run around on and to explore. the weapons are pretty good but could be better. with the new expantion pack will make it even better. If it came with a level editer it would be the perfect star trek game. if you like action, star trek, or good games get this one. you will love it.
I have had Elite Force for years, and I have to say that it is just as fun as it was when I first played the game. You really do feel like you are part of the Voyager crew as the entire cast (minus Kes) returns to reprise their roles we all know and love from the series. The story is sharp and the acting is even sharper. Fighting the Borg face to face is really amazing, talking to the crew is even cooler. Fans of Star Trek should love this game, fans of Voyager WILL loves this game. A must have for all my fellow Trekkies/Trekkers/And fans who don’t like the label. Buy this game!! A MustHAVE!!!

This game was one of the few PC games I played till the disc stopped being read. I didn’t have a lot as a child, but this was one of the few games I was able to get. Getting it now is like a trip down memory lane. I love the Quake III style games of the early 2000’s, they don’t make those style games anymore (save for the Halo games). I have tried playing the PS2 port, but it does not play or feel the same as the superior PC version. Playing on a gaming PC at high setting is an amazing experience that I wouldn’t have even dreamed of 12+ years ago. The only thing I can complain about (with my order in particular) is that I somehow received the Asia Pacific Version. I ordered it off of retrolio US and there was no indication on the region. Thankfully PC’s are region free and I can freely play one of my all time favorite games.

Well, this is my second review of this game, and it’s still impressive although a bit too easy. I just got into playing it a week ago, after upgrading my computer with the 3-D Voodoo card. It only took me that long to beat it. The only thing left to do now is enjoy the holodeck adventures either alone or with someone on-line. That’s always the sad part about a game; when you’ve beaten it. I know it has to happen sooner or later, but this seemed like a very short time compared to other games. Oh, well. The holodeck adventures are still there, thank goodness.Still, a must have for all fans alike.

this is exactly how a Star Trek game should be, the graphics are fantastic, though, most of the characters, look, well, close to the real thing, but far from exact, but the game-play is fast and fun, and unlike other FPS games, you use alot of stratagy, other than kill or be killed tacticsto all the DEAF gamers out there, the story-line and communication between characters is written and spoken, so this game is totally user friendly

This is truly one the best Star Trek games ever made. Graphics, sound, and realistic gameplay are what make this game well worth every penny. However, I suggest that you carefully consider the requirements for running this game. Having the minimum requirements just doesn’t do the game justice. You really need at least double the minimum requirements to enjoy this game fully.

Given the history of previous games based on the Star Trek license, I didn’t have high hopes for this game. That’s why I was really blown away when I finally played it.While it’s not quite the ultimate FPS that UT or Q3 are, it takes the best elements of these games and combines them with the best element of Half-Life- the story.The Elite Force story, while not entirely original, is quite rich as well-told. Like in Half-Life, your character plays a pivitol role in the story and actually experiences a true character arc (unlike Gordon Freeman, IMO).Two criticisms- First, I found the physics to be a little jerky. Not quite as smooth as Q3, which is strange considering this game uses that engine. Second, the game play was just a little too easy- the creatures weren’t all that challenging. Even the bosses. Oh, and one more thing- the AI of your teammates was pretty sad. They kept running in front of my line of fire and then yelling at me when I shot them.This game is the first one since Half-Life that, like a good book, I could not pull myself away from. And like a REALLY good book, it’s worth playing a second time through.

If you’ve ever secrety wished that you could land a part on a’Star Trek Voyager’ TV Show, this could do the trick. I really like 1st person shooter RPGs with some believable adventure and good story lines. Deus Ex, NOLF, Max Payne Etc. To be truthful though, until I tried the DEMO for Elite Force I wasn’t expecting much. I hadn’t heard or read any good buzz on the Star Trek ‘Games’. After playing it though I was thoroughly impressed. On the plus side are, great graphics, tight story, loads of action and I felt as if I was right in the game. I can’t wait to get my hands on the Xpack. On the down side though: I thought that the game was a little on the short side. A few more levels would have been nice or maybe if they would have let the imaginations of the story and art work guys loose a while longer for us ‘Earthlings’ who just love getting to "Hang" with our Federation ‘Homies’ for a few hours each week in the safety of a Federation Starship. I hope Activision keeps on working on STEF, I’m hooked.

Had this game when I was growing up, fun then, fun now :D. Unfortunately not alot of people still play it online anymore. Story is as most people say rather short but for me the multiplayer more than makes up for it.Wish someone would remake this game with updated graphics and maybe a new storyline.
