  1. Paper Tiger

For me this is the best Mario game I’ve played since we got the SNES when I was a kid. This is not a re-hash as some would like to suggest. Sure Nintendo could have come up with a new character to stick in there but why bother? Each and every level is unique, creative, and very fun. The worlds are not themed (ie the ice world, desert world etc) which I actually find to be a nice change especially for a handheld Mario game. The 3D/diorama effect is at it’s best in this game as well. I was very impressed by the use of the 3D and how great the game looked. I used the 3D the entire time so I can’t attest to what the game is like without it.Is the game a little too easy? For some definitly but regardless it is a very fun game with lot’s of replay value especially if you are a perfectionist in finding all the coins. This is handheld gaming at it’s best!

Worked perfectly. I’m happy with this purchase.

  3. Relytia

It’s pretty amazing how successful Mario has been for the 25+ years he has been stomping Bowzer and his army of koopas in order to save Peach. Each Mario release is hailed as a veritable masterwork in the platforming genre, both in 2-D and in 3-D. The reason I say it’s amazing because Mario games have all essentially boiled down to the joy of two simple things, running and jumping. Sure there has been a lot of additions to this formula over the years, additions like suits, triple jumps, long jumps, and other things, but it’s all on the backbone of traversing the magical Mushroom Kingdom through running and jumping. Super Mario 3D Land does not change this, it never needed to, *but* it does provide quite a few changes to what you’d expect from a Mario platformer. Prior to release, it had a lot of pressure on its shoulders to be the premier “killer app” that would prove the 3DS’ worth as a game developed specifically for the system. Let me just say right now, Super Mario 3D Land definitely succeeds in that endeavor, but honestly, this is a fantastic Mario platformer, period.Do I really need to cover the story here? With some very rare, unusual

  4. Jmgarcia

Bought my kid a new 3ds for christmas, and I chose this game for him. I tried it out and let me tell you, this is an awesome Mario game. This game is perfect for young kids and their use of the 3d features is on point. This game has all the classic features of the original Mario games, the music the linear play and all the classic bad guys. Combination of Mario 64 and old school Mario.Great first game, very satisfied.

  5. Kaye E Steeno

    Great present for my grandson

  6. Another Customer

The game is simply addictive, some levels are so easy to complete while others require a lot of patience, especially when it is necessary to collect the big star coins. Once beaten, the player has the chance to play special levels which are a little more difficult and different. There are many secrets levels which are a challenge to find and complete. The 3D effect is great, and it allows the player to really notice the depth in the levels. The game comes with two 3D effects just by pressing up or down on the pad to switch between them.It is a great purchase.

  7. Alysse Rice

I bought this game for my Wii U, and loved it so much I bought it for my 3ds. It is so entertaining and I can’t wait to beat it again.

  8. Strike Commando

I don’t know where I’d place this in a “Top” # list, but it’s definitely up there. It’s got the gameplay mix of Mario 64 meets original Mario Bros. The levels are short and sweet with a flag pole at the end just like the NES games, and it’s got the 3D world and slight bit of exploration from Mario 64 with that essential twist of 3D.Most 3DS games don’t make meaningful use of the 3DS’ 3D capability, but this game absolutely does. THIS IS THE GAME THAT ACTUALLY MAKES 3D RELEVANT in a world where 3D in gaming and 3D in movies is generally tacked-on and irrelevant. The best part is that even with the 3D off, this game is just as playable; more difficult, but absolutely playable. So, even if you’re one of the unfortunate folks who can’t experience 3D on the 3DS due to eye issues, I wouldn’t worry too much about not being able to play such a great game.Even if you don’t care for anything else on the 3DS, you NEED to play this game if you like Mario games at all. Buy it with a 3DS and re-sell it when you’re done, or just borrow from a friend. Do whatever it takes to experience this one.

love it great product. Will buy again

  10. 90s Kid

This is one of the best Mario games I have ever played! The 3D is amazing; the depth perception is what puts it over the top. The game itself it a lot of fun and you will see some ‘shout-outs’ to classic Mario games in some levels. The golden feather is my very helpful if you come to a challenging level. It will appear when you start a level, if you have died several times in a row. After you have beaten the game, a Special World is activated so it is basically 2 worlds in 1 game. You were playing to rescue Princess Peach, but now Luigi is trapped. In the special world, you can play as Luigi or Mario, the levels are harder and there is no golden feather. Also, there are less power ups and beware of the poisonous mushrooms!Another cool thing is the photo album. There is a 3D photo for each new world and you can always go back to the mushroom house in World 3 to save them to your 3DS or 3DS XL. Of course, this means you can graffiti, customize, and share.I am still waiting for a current Mario game to have a Star World – that is the only thing that could have improved this game for me, otherwise, it is perfect! If you have a 3DS or 3DS XL, this is the game I recommend!
