Great casual game to pass the time. Not challenging, but still very engaging. This game rocks, but for hardcore fans of the series, it’s a 4-star title. Other players will love it on the other hand, so please do buy this thing up,

To old school gamers: I’ve played all of the old school Mario games like the original Mario Bros on NES, Super Mario 64, Mario Bros 3, the lost levels, Super Mario World, and others in that era. I haven’t touched New Super Mario Bros or any of the new school stuff. So imagine my surprise when I played the first level of this game! With that in mind,Pros:-Wonderful gameplay captures the retro feeling of the old Mario games while introducing something new. I can’t really explain it in words, but something about the gameplay is so retro, yet modern. This is definitely the best point of the game. It can appeal to both "old school" and "new school" gamers.-The graphics are delightful, especially in 3D.-Every element of the gameplay has clearly been tweaked, like in the old games. You can tell that the developers play-tested and made sure that every enemy, obstacle, and power-up is exactly where it should be.Cons:-Most of the stars are terribly easy to collect.-The same stupid story. I know most people won’t agree with me since it’s a Mario game, but there is potential for so much more! And it’s 2014 already; it’s no excuse to cling to a story heavy with graphical limitations made in 1985. Traditional? Yes. Good? No.

Mind-blowing. Graphically stunning. Imaginative. This game is so so so fun. There are a million levels and each level is completely different. The gameplay is fun, colorful, and dynamic, and there are all kinds of easter eggs and fun little secret rooms you can find. This is one of those games you can play again and again.

Daughter is going nuts!! "I always wanted it & now I have it!!!" She took it out of the package & started playing it immediately, but got frustrated a few times (she’s 10). She loves being able to "dress up" Mario as a raccoon or cat to play the game. Now, if I can only get a chance to play….

As someone who never tries to go for 100% in a game I am trying to 100% this one. That should tell you something, Also, as an aside, I play with the 3D off because I’m not a fan of 3D games. In some places you need to turn the 3D on to figure out how to get from point A to B but you can turn it off right after. If you have a problem with 3D like me these parts won’t really bother you.

Excelent game for my nephews. They love it.

If I could I rate it 4.5, I would, because it arguably deserves it. The formula is both what makes it so alluring, and its biggest flaw (which is not saying a lot, really, let’s face it) at the same time. The developers were correct that New Super Mario Bros fans wanted to see the charm of the 2D New Super Mario Bros environment brought to life in 3D. They DEFINATELY achieved this and the result is perfect, terribly perfect.I feel like they were so faithful to the New Super Mario Bros formula that it almost reaches the point of self-parody. Even the box design, a rehashing of old devices against a white background, suggests an artificial, toylike atmosphere – which I’m sure was meant to be playful. The developers definately evoked many of the past games, to point that this game feels like the seamless missing link between all of the Wii environments in this generation of Mario. At any point in the game I feel like I’m playing another Mario game, and the parts that are original are so mild that they fit right in without adding very much of mention that is new. It’s almost so uniform with the other Mario games that it lacks this element of…genuineness. I don’t think it will be remembered for its individuality. The familiar environments would probably be more enjoyable if the levels were longer, but some of the levels are very brief, and follow an over the hill, turn, go forward and find the finish line format. Sometimes I found myself wondering if I was playing a demo.

Got this for a child. So far it’s a great investment as it, had been played more than many other games.
