I am a fan of Nicalis, and this game is in line with their other products.As in pure Nicalis style, the physical copy contain a manual and some sort of gadget, like stickers or keychain; this is why people buy physical copies, and all companies should do that.The game is fun; graphics are the usual pixel/low quality as other Nicalis games, but it doesn’t bother much, since the game is fun. Looks like a mobile game more than a home console game, but it is addictive and fun. Nice gameplay, colorful and the voice is in JP with EN subtitles, so you get all the story and dialogues no problems

Love the game. Looked every where for it. Gamestop tried telling me no physical exsisted. Found it here. Its basically a cute Diablo. Definitely a must own dungeon crawler. Highly recommended.

People who complain about this game make me laugh. The biggest complaint I hear is that the game is short, it is but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Think of this game like a 1990’s Best-em-Up style game in the arcades. They were not meant to last 40 hours like Diablo III, a game that Remi Lore seems to be constantly compared to for some strange reason. Bottom line, this game is awesome fun and it is meant to be replayed more than once. Do not let the fact that you can “beat” the games story in around three hours turn you off if you are just looking for a good time. Not every game has to be a huge epic.Also a massive thank you to Nicalis for the extra goodies! A real, physical color manual, an adorable printed wipe cloth and a double sided game case art cover!

RemiLore is an anime-style ARPG hack-n-slash. It is a “rogue-lite” game, meaning the level layout is random every play-through, and death is permanent. Death isn’t as bad in RemiLore as in most rogue-lites, as you retain your upgrades and weapon. It isn’t particularly hard, from what I’ve experienced so far. I die once in a while, but it isn’t as punishing as many ARPGs or rogue-lites. It also isn’t especially deep. The story is similar to a cutesy anime episode – nothing to write home about. That all being said, it is fun, and I can play it in front of, or with, my daughter. If you’re looking to scratch a diablo/beatemup itch without blood, demons or undead, this is a good title to pick up.Pros:-Visually Appealing, very bright and pretty game-Not too hard, but there is a hard mode for additional challenge after finishing the story mode-Controls are tight and responsive-Kid friendly-Lots of silly weapons and other unlockablesCons:-Conversations between characters can be annoying, but there is a mode without them-Can be repetitive. More interaction and characters would have been nice-Price is high for what you get, but Nicalis is good about content updates, so here’s hopingOverall, this is a charming game and I’m having a lot of fun with it. Just don’t go in thinking that this is a traditional JRPG or hard as nails rogue-like, because it isn’t.

The biggest thing people who purchase this game need to know is it isn’t very long, the original playthrough takes roughly 3-4 hours (possibly less for people who do speed runs). However, I personally didn’t mind that. The dialogue is fun and rather funny at times, you never stay in one area long enough to become bored or tired with it, and they manage to fit a respectable amount of plot and back-story in such a short period of time.Some of the monsters are re-used more than I’d like, but the game offers a wide variety of weapons (I believe over two hundred to uncover), and weapon types (varying from really cool to hilariously funny). Additionally, the spell system is varied and the upgrade system works well too. After beating the game with the main character, I can also play a different character you encounter during the game, as well as change / unlock new costumes for both.While this game probably won’t be winning any awards, it was a fun game you can replay a few times when you feel like a cute anime style hack & slash (that won’t take up your whole afternoon). I wouldn’t quite say it’s worth the $55 originally priced at, perhaps more around the $40 range, but I have no regrets purchasing this title, and supporting the company.They have a wonderful framework they could build off of with this title, and hopefully, if enough people support it, RemiLore 2 will be twice to three times as long with even more interesting fights to overcome.

A fun experience from start to finish! RemiLore had me crawling through dungeons over and over again! Each world had some cool backstory, and coupled with some unique monsters/enemies and some light banter during fights, it painted a very nice picture of the world we were in. The colourful backdrops were stunning, and the music was nicely done.My favourite part was the voice actors/actresses! They were quite expressive throughout the game, and though they continue to chat as you fought (which you can turn off in the options if it bugs you), I kind of liked having it!There are quite a number of collectibles throughout the game in the form of weapons, and for the first few runs, it was exciting to get newer and better ones. But after a few play-throughs, it got a bit repetitive. Instead, there are options to change the gameplay up, such as randomizing your weapon after each kill. Each weapon type had its own quirks and gimmicks, and it was fun to experiment with all of them.The edition also came with a small manual/booklet! Just like the old days of the GBA/N64. I felt like a kid again, reading through it a few times with excitement!If you like a short and sweet game and want to support the developers, I recommend this game! It’s not a long game (my first play-through took me around 8 hours, but once you’re levelled up nicely you can blaze through it in 1-2 hours).
