This deluxe collection of Tom and Jerry over their first 70 years contains content not seen on any other authorized DVD; such as edited shorts, including one in CinemaScope reformatted in Fullscreen, and a CinemaScope remake with unadjustable black bars, revised shorts with Mammy Two-Shoes in them, and also the 7 Oscar-winning shorts uncut! The 2nd disc in this 2-disc collection contains a bunch of extras, including episodes from the 1970’s and 80’s Tom & Jerry shows respectively from Hanna-Barbera and Filmation (the latter where Fat Albert and the Brady Kids were made), and one from the 90’s Kids series, as well as one of the last episodes of Tom and Jerry Tales as a game of Mouse and Cat. It also has a documentary on Tom and Jerry also seen in the Gene Deitch Collection DVD, and 2 Chuck Jones era shorts in their original Fullscreen format. Even though the disc menus have pictures for Dickey Moe from the Gene Deitch era and 2000’s The Mansion Cat on them, neither are anywhere to be found here, nor the Mansion Cat on DVD at all, as of spring 2018! You’re in for a lot of Tom and Jerry over their first 70 years in this set, even with a bunch of drawbacks!
