I grew up with Dragon Warrior on NES. I love both Dragon Quest and Pokemon series. That being said, Dragon Quest did “it” first! It being the rogue-like mystery dungeon genre. This is the first mystery dungeon type game ever created (1993 in Japan). But enough of the history lesson…This spin off game is a far cry from the traditional RPG style. Every time you enter a dungeon the floor layout, items, and monsters are randomly generated. Memorizing the dungeon floor will do you no good; drawing maps is equally useless (I did both for the RPGs). While walking around the dungeon you will encounter wandering enemies, whom you fight in a turn-based manner. Additionally, on your journey you will increasingly become hungry and must eat items you’ve found on the floor. You’ll also find weapons, armor, and other items. If you walk around a single floor too long (2000 turns, if I remember correctly) a giant wind will blow you out of the dungeon, mimicking death. Death is merciless: you lose all your held items and half of your gold. I found the story to be weaker than the RPG stories. When you beat the game you can have Torneko change from a merchant to a warrior or a mage… at level 1, of course. The music is catchy and doesn’t get annoying, even after playing nonstop for hours. The graphics are standard looking, but the dungeon walls and floors could use even more variety. Grinding gets boring and excessively repetitive (says the person who liked grinding in the RPGs).Don’t let the p.

Even though this game may not have everything that you would like in a RPG,it still is a pretty solid RPG game. Not only that, but fans of the Dragon Quest/Warrior series will most likely enjoy this game since it is a spin off from Dragon Quest/Warrior 4 with Torneko(aka Taloon) being the hero.If you are a die hard DQ/DW fan like me,then this game is a must buy. But,if you’re not really into the DQ/DW series, then I’d suggest you rent this game before you buy it.

THE IMMORTAL PLAYSTATION IS THE SYSTEM THAT MAKES THE BEST USE OF RPGS!! IT ALSO HAS THE MOST RPGS OF ANY SYSTEM! AS TO THIS PARTICULAR TITLE, IT’S AMUSING TO SAY THE LEAST. I HAVE FOUND THAT ON THE CAPCOM CLASSICS COLLECTION3 FOR PS2, THE GAME QUIZES & DRAGONS HAS TORNEKO ON IT AS AN INN KEEPER. THE MAIN CHARACTER IS A MIDDLE-AGE OVERWEIGHT MAN SEARCHING DUNGEONS FOR TREASURE WITH THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF OPENING HIS OWN INN.

Cool Dragon Quest Spinoff game! The Torneko series is an interesting Dungeon Crawler in the Dragon Warrior/Quest World! Good Game!

I bought this as a gift for my wife,as long as it plays and she’s happy, I’m happy

I swear that this character, the pudgy, & fat Torneko is in a game I’m playing called Quizes & Dragons!! I don’t give a rats ass about what other people think about this!! I still like these kinds of games; even if they are cheesy and far too short!!!

This game give a new hope to the RPG industry. While it’s graphics are only mediocre, and it’s storyline not too strong, it does have some strong points. Starring Torneko (a.k.a. Taloon) of Dragon Quest/Warrior IV it is a lot different than other DQ/DW games. You must go around through "magical dungeons" to collect money, item, and fight foes. And depending on the different things you did during the game will determine your "game ranking." It also serves partly as a sequel to the japanese games Torneko no Daibouken* for Super Famicom, and Toruneko No Daiboken 2: Fushigi No Dungeon** for PlayStation. I recommened this game to anyone who enjoyed playing the Dragon Warrior and/or Dragon Quest games.* roughly translated Taloon’s Great Adventure, ** roughly translated Taloon’s Great Adventure 2: Dungeon of Mystery
