A must buy for the people that enjoyed Monster Hunter. It has a action rpg combat system that is tough to master, but fun to play! Freeing and equipping souls allows you to play your character differently. You can switch your weapons out at anytime if you get sick of using a sword or knives etc. Simple controls, play solo or other players making it fun to play for everyone! When fighting bosses it reminds me a little of Shadow of the Colossus because you have to find their weakness to take them down.

  2. Sergio

Beautiful environments, cool weapons and skills, excellent music, awesome monsters (oni) and lovely characters. Would love to see a sequel!

Previously had this game, then I dropped my device in the bathtub. Would prefer that next time you make you games waterproof. 😏

  4. Sem Mabanta

Like the adventure of this game

If you’ve read that this game is like Monster Hunter, then you’re right–it is, but it’s still quite fun. The mission structure is great and well-paced for a handheld title. The combat is quite fast and the controls are sharp.

Toukiden – The Age of Demons was a great PS Vita game back in the day. The mechanic was unique and the setting was interesting. The graphics are somewhat questionable, but most players can get use to it within a few days. I do recommend this PS VITA game if you are into the whole Japanese theme.

I really don’t have to say anything else. This game is nearly perfect for me.I will say that comparing this to Soul Sacrifice… I think that’s unfair as Soul Sacrifice has its own strong points… but I can’t deny that I prefer this over Soul Sacrifice though. As expected from Koei, the character designs and all… they all look similar as Dynasty Warriors, which isn’t a bad thing at all. I love their designs. If there’s one bad thing I have to say….the game play is a bit annoying when your teammates are all derpy, running around, not purifying the parts and stuff, not reviving you,… I really wish they had better A.I than that.

The pioneering title in a year where the Vita has finally gotten the love of quality titles.

If you like Soul Sacrifice you will enjoy this game. I am relatively new to this genre of game but after enjoying Soul Sacrifice I had to give Toukiden a shot. I was not disappointed. If you havent played Soul Sacrifice on the Vita go buy that as well. This game has a very simple mindset. There are giant "Oni" Monsters and it is your job and the job of the other Slayers to destroy these Monsters and of course save the world. The combat is fun and engaging especially the use of the vision mode which shows Monsters weak parts. Each weapon has its own play style and makes fights play a little different depending on what weapon you are using. Some people think that the lack of Monster variety takes a way from the whole package. I would agree that it would be great to have even more monsters but I havent really gotten bored of fighting the ones they provide. There seems to be about 10 different large bosses as well as another 10 minor demons that you fight throughout the game. The small oni are of course just fodder for you and you slayer crew while the larger monsters quickly become a challenge and help to make the player consider there abilities and tactics to get the best bonuses at the end of the fight.I myself find the story to be interesting and a lot of fun. I played through large chunks of the game several times just to continue to see how the story played out. It is by no means a masterpiece of fiction but the setting is fun and different from most Western.

Good game to kill your spare time. Better than other similar games.
