game is great really takes you back to the ps1 but the controls are hard even if you customize it for that reason i give it 4 stars but if the controls were to be made a little more user friendly for the psp i would not have a problem rating it 5

I bought this game about a week or so after i got my PSP and i LOVE IT!!! Twisted Metal is a very fun game and i love it. I think that every PSP game is worth $$$1,000,000!!! If i could give this game 100 stars. I totally would. SO the bottom line is. Buy the game. It is worth ur cash.

I like twisted metal head-on, it is a great game. I haven’t played twisted metal since the third version on playstation, I regret letting my idiotic cousin trade it for one of the NBA Jam versions. But anyway this game is good, haven’t beat the last boss yet, I’m getting to it as soon as I master the technique of firing backwards and shield, I’ll beat him.Buy it.

What a way for the launch of the PSP to go out with a bang! TMHO is by far the best TM game in the entire franchise (exception TMB). With 12 large and interactive levels and 14 vehicles capable of wreaking major destruction TMHO is too awesome to write in such a short review.Bottom Line: Way too cool

*** This is an update to my previous review based on new info ***This is a very fast, fun, madcap game where you drive a monster garage-type vehicle around attacking everything in your path. Although the basics are pretty obvious – drive around, pick up ammo and shoot stuff – the game is actually pretty intricate, and loads on the complexity with special key sequences, mini games and mystery objects than endow special powers to the holder. Although this gives the game a lot of depth and potential, it jacks up the learning curve for us mere mortals. The single player mode apparently has a story to it, but I haven’t found one yet and I’m on the 3rd level – but that does not matter too much, the game is fun anyway! The character descriptions in the manual read suspiciously like they’ve been translated from Japanese, not in terms of their quality but in terms of their weirdness! If the story really does unfold as I progress that will be good, but for now, this is a stateless death match type game for me.On the negative side, I really get the feeling that I’m missing a lot of the potential of the game because I keep on dying too quickly. It’s only by playing it again and again that you get to learn what all the various power-ups do and learn appropriate circuits to run on the maps. I’m a FPS death match veteran and I’ve never come across such complicated, multi-level ways to destroy other players. Note that I wrote “destroy” and not “kill”: there’s no blood or guts in this game as.

One of the best game I’ve played before.

I agree with most who say that this is a true sequel to Twisted Metal 2 World Tour. Most of that game’s vehicle’s are in this installment albeit some character and vehicle design changes. For example, Hammerhead is a pick-up truck rather than a Monster SUV truck and Thumper is driven by a Hispanic looking teenage female rather than an adult black male. Calypso is back and the actor who voices him did an incredible job. As for the game in general, I think they were able to pull off a lot of what we enjoyed about TM2 with a few extras. There are power upgrades you can collect after you destroy an opponent, and when you collect the last one, your special weapon magnifies in a certain way. This is what sets this game apart. One notable difference is that you can’t die from falling off a cliff or a building. You just re-appear back on the course with a little bit of your vitality taken away. I don’t know if I like this idea because the most fun I ever had with TM2 is driving as Mr. Slam, grabbing an enemy with the shovel grips, slamming it a few times, and tossing them over board to their death. Here’s another interesting addition, there are minigames on every level. Each one has their own unique challenge and I think it is a welcome break from the usual drive and gun action you’re used to in Twisted Metal. This game is really good and it’s a must-buy weather you’re familiar with Twisted Metal or not. I think the ultimate Twisted Metal game would be elements of TM2 and this one..
