Awesome as usual. I love the 3DS. I think the game looks great and plays phenomenally. Can’t go wrong with a Yoshi game.
Surprised by the mixed reviews on this one!I played the original Yoshi’s Island for SNES when I was a kid. This new one is a really good follow-up to that. It stays consistent in the design, but it also introduces a lot of newer, interesting gameplay dynamics to keep you entertained. Only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because I’m not really a huge fan of the tilt-the-DS-to-play parts that make use of the 3DS gyroscope… that just kind of annoys me when I’m playing the game laying down because I have to sit up to use that.In the original Yoshi’s Island game, you had to get the 30 stars, 20 red coins, and 5 flowers all in one run to get a perfect score on the level. If you were the kind of perfectionist going for that, it was kind of frustrating and time-consuming. With this new game, it keeps track of which you’ve already achieved so you can just replay a level and get each thing separately if you want (30 stars in one run, 20 red coins in a second).The game may be a bit too forgiving though. If you are struggling with a level (have died maybe 3 times in a row), it’ll give you a pair of wings that let you float as you wish and make you immune to enemies. It felt like playing with a Game Genie or something.
If you have played Yoshi games in the past you will like this new game. There area few new elements, but this is a classis yoshi game. It has a very cute story. Be mindful this game can be played through rather quickly if you don’t find all red coins, yoshi coins, and flowers.
If you like the mario and yoshi franchises, you will like this game. I am 30 and have been playing these games since I was five. I play my gameboy a few times a year, mostly when I am sick, traveling, or otherwise incapacitated. My husband tries to get me every new game as it comes out, and this was the last one that he got. It was terrific fun and I beat it in two days. A little harder than the New Super Mario Brothers game, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Somewhat different from the original game I played as a kid, but still has everything i missed from my childhood.

I received my Yoshi Game with Cartridge and Box Art. Thank you so Much! I was worried about the condition I would receive it in. But it came in the condition promised. 5/5 It was my first time purchasing with y’all and I am content with my game!

Unlike most reviewers I prefer this version to the DS game. It does have a horrible soundtrack though if that makes a difference to you.

A remake of the old yoshi’s island I grew up with as a child. There are some minor changes but it brings back all those fun and happy memories. Now I play this with my daughter (on her 2 ds, me on a 3ds) and we will do 2p mini games together and laugh. Or just play next to each other. She says its her favorite game!
