Moreover, the English dub of Zoids VS II features a complete translation of the other game. Albeit with a few errors. Brad is name as “Ballad,” Thomas as “Thoma”. And Blood as “Brad”, etc.

even though i have not played this game i have seen videos of it at a website i cannot tell. there are not a wide variety of zoids to choose from but for the most part you play as all the zoids from the bit and liger zero series and it has a sweet intro video with a phoenix liger going against a konig wolf and then it sheds its armor as seen in the show and then transforms into the thunder liger (go to cornbom.plus.com/video) sweet this review was written by the dark raven

Zoids battle legends might be cool for Americans who have never seen a decent anime game but I know better. I have all 3 of the zoids verses titles and zoids full metal clash. Compared to these games bl is like a -10it really is sad. I would recommend that all of you who want to get some serious anime games to go to play-asia .com and by a freeloader which will enable your cube to play all of the Japanese Zoids games you heart desires.

I love the quality of the disc. No issues there. But good god does the game suck more than I remember when I was a lass lmao.

I bought this game and cruised past the first 11 levels of mission mode as the republic and then once I got to the 12th…It wasn’t pretty. Same goes for the battle mode. I got past the first 9 levels and then I had to face an ultra saurus pretty much alone because the “Partner” that you are forced to join with is incredibly stupid. The Ultra saurus can’t be physically attacked because it has some electric force field on it so you get shocked if you actually make contact with it. Then your partner (being the dumbass that he is) just keeps on jumping right into him. Fortunately you can stop him from doing that by telling him to bombard the enemy but it’s still very, very, very hard. Two player mode is really fun too because you can load customized zoids from your memory card into the game so that you and your friend can use your own zoids. Facing the computer is a joke though. Fists mode is alright, it’s just VS. mode with a harder level that may have a hole in the middle or be on a plat form etc. I recommend this game to any zoids fan.

I’m a fan of Zoids and I saw this game and thought that some games based off anime aren’t that good I decieded to want a while. If you are a Zoid fan this is the game to get. You get to piolt almost any Zoid you’ve ever seen. I give this game 5 stars out of 5 stars!

It’s fun to play as your fellow childhood Zoid, along with your favorite pilots (that’s if you grew up with the tv series). This game gives that ONE opportunity to feel what it’s like to control a 3000 ton metallic creature, which is awesome at first… but… that feeling seems to disappear after a few hours of gameplay. To start out, there are some “major” problems with the sound and music. (1) The voiceactors aren’t the same as the one from the actual series. It also seems that they weren’t paid engouh, because they don’t put enough feeling into the character. They sound like some bad voice program you would hear in your computer. (2) Music eventually becomes elevator jingle. After the first hour of gameplay, you realize that the music is just not that epic as the battles are. I wouldn’t be surprised if you decided to the tv and put on some crazy rock track from your ipod (or the actual tv series soundtrack, idk). (3) As for the sound effects… they were acceptable. They actually managed to keep the original sounds of the Zoids– well most of it, at least.Visuals I’d say were average. Indeed, the game was about Zoids, and they got the look right (I suppose). It was the enviorment and lightwork that needed further programming. (1) This game offers a set of proposed fields. Some will have lumps, others will have hills, etc., but they all have that same problem: they lack in depth, color, and texture. The fields remind me of some old PS1 game back in the 90’s. My point is the visuals, well… they just aren’t as impressive as what other Gamecube game are. I mean we all remember the visuals of Sonic Battles 2 or The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker.(2) Lasers, guns, shining blades and glowing claws, what more do you want? How about better quality? We all know what a lightbulg looks like when it flutters or suddently goes out, it sparks out like crazy. The lights that emit from the Zoids, that’s all they do– glow. There’s nothing special about it. At least they got the behavior right, in the sense that you can tell it’s a laser, but that’s it. So when you do the Strike Laser Claw or a Buster Slash or a Particle Beam Cannon, something will have a light, but don’t expect anything unique. One last thing to note is that (depending on the field you’re on) the sun will sometimes block out the light of your laser attack, so it becomes difficult trying to aim.The controller wasn’t correct for this game either. (1) You need one button for the gun function, one button for a close combat attack, one button to switch the type of gun your Zoid is using. You also have the chance to use your Zoid’s special move, only one problem: you have to somehow press all three of the previous buttons with your one and only thumb, while keeping aim. (2) Moving around with your Zoid will take a little to get used to. It doesn’t matter which Zoid you pick, they all have the same flaw in the concept of moving. In any game, to move straight you would normally tilt forward on the analog stick. But in this game, moving straight will take practice. When you move the analog stick forward you are actually tilting the movement of the Zoid slightly to the left or to the right. The analog stick is very sensitive in this game. (3) Aiming is going to take some time to get used to, too. When your Zoids is in movement, it has the option to shoot as well. Don’t bother. It’s almost impossible to actually hit something while you’re moving. You have a better chance of charging at the AI whith your close combat attack during movement, than what you do with your artillery. (4) And about the close combat, if you miss, you are basically a sitting duck. It’s because the game is programmed to make you slower once you make that strike, WHETHER it was successful or not. Finally there’s the point that THERE IS ONLY ONE ATTACK BUTTON. You’d figure that each Zoid has a unique fighting style, but don’t expect too much of them either.Overall review, I gave it a 4 of 5 because the game needed further developing and more thought. If you want quality, you won’t see, hear, or feel much of it here. Play this game because you want the chance to move around as a Zoid and do your favorite moves from the TV series. Also play it because this game, unlike many fighter games, involves giant robots clashing. Don’t play it because you are expecting gaming experience that was above average of the Gamecube. If you want Zoids with better quality, wait for it in the PS3 or Xbox 360 (which I doubt will happen, now that everybody forgot about the series).

If you’re a zoids fan then you will love this game. I got it as a kid when it was first released and whenever I’m in the mood for a nostalgic game I play this. The story mode is a bit tough but overall the game is a blast. I fully recommend this game.
