This game puts all other baseball games to shame. The All-Star baseball legacy lives on. Forget about High Heat and triple play, play All Star. You won’t believe how realistic it is. Broken bats. You can actually see the baseball land in the fielder’s gloves. When pitchers get base hits, they put on jackets….and there’s a hell of alot more.

Two words…Franshise mode…finally somebody got it right thank you Akklaim Sports. The player detail is absolutely beautiful. The replays after each play make it almost feel like you are sitting in the stands or from the TV camera replay looks like you are watching an actual game. Expansion mode is also very fun with some very creative expansion nicknames and logos added by the software people along with some citys that should have teams such as Hawaii, Norfolk, VA, Puerto Rico, Oklahoma, Vancouver B.C. As far as the gameplay there is only one flaw that I have seen and that is sometimes when you are fielding the ball your player chasing the ball might make a catch that looks like the ball would land at least 5 feet away from where he was standing. But other times you will watch balls bounce off of players gloves and watch squibbers get under the diving infielders. Overall this is the best baseball game ever made for ANY system. The realistic feel and no 17-15 games make it that much more realistic. I have played four games with scores of 8-5, 8-3, 2-1, and 3-2. I cant get myself away from this game because every time I turn off the playstation 2 i just yearn to turn it on and play even more. Triple Play is dead…come on EA Sports add fantasy mode and i might give you a chance again but right now All Star baseball 2003 from Akklaim is the king of baseball video games. BUY THIS GAME NOW !!!!

This game stinks. When you think you have a double they throw it in to the second base man and usually get you out.A lot of times when the ball is like ten yards down they usually make the catch unbelieveable!! this game is not worth the money.

I think that All-Star Baseball 2003 for PS2 is an absolute wonderful game. There is only one thing wrong though. WHY ISN’T YOUR TEAM SMART?! I love this game a whole lot better than Final Fantasy X but my team just … me off! I have all the best players, of those including A-Rod, Miguel Tejada (Best Player In The Game!), and Luis Gonzalez, but they just don’t know how to hit or field. And how come the CPU can make perfect diving catches and decide if they want to jump, scale, slide, or dive, huh? When you play you’ll try and scale the wall, but he’ll dive and smash his head in to it instead! Also when your batting, the pitches are way to fast where on Gamecube you can actually hit a changeup. But don’t take my word for it. Maybe I just …. can’t do anything right! Still, I love this game a whole lot and right below this sentance will be a whole list of why I love it so much.* Great 3D graphics and animation captures.* An expansion mode that lets you create you own team and choose there city, team name (comes with logo), and stadium. (None of which are real)* Franchise Mode* Commentary with the great Thom Brennaman, Steve Lyons, and Bob Brenly.* Exhibition, Season, Series, Home Run Derby, and All-Star Game Manger.* Playor Editor* Life-like Team Manegment system* Special features like the all new Batting Practice and Baseball Trivia game.* And Donruss player cards you can collect. So there are my reasons why and why not to get the game. So if you want to get the game on PS2, f.

Great Graphics! Great Game modes and the best overall game I have played for baseball yet. Get this game if you are a big fan of baseball not if you are a big fan of arcade games.

this game is the best baseball game i’ve ever played. the graphics are tite, the gameplay is fun and real, and the game modes are great. could’t stop playing this game. i played it for 10 hours straight. this is a must buy game.

I’ve own All Star 2002 and now 2003, and it’s really the best game there is yet for the PS2. Yes, it takes time to get used to the hitting, and yes, the graphics can take some getting used to (there’s more "crisp" than Triple Play, but at the expense of "real life" blurriness). The one thing that I’m still upset about is the lack of a pitcher-focused view other than for instant replays. In a one player game it has always been easier / more fun for me to see the game from behind the pitcher’s back when pitching, and behind the hitter when at bat.The engine is the same as 2002, but the enhancements to All Star 2003 are worth the price. Accurate updated rosters (obviously), more instant replays (without as much repetitiveness), new sounds, updated stadiums and some bug fixes from 2002.Others have complained about the difficulty of hitting. I’ve found on "rookie" it’s pretty easy to hit (and games are fair), whereas the more difficult modes make it more of a real-life guessing game. Two-player games allow you to "telegraph" pitches but you can move the pitch after the pitcher begins his windup (helpful for Barry Zito-like knee-buckling curveballs). All in all the best game… for now.

This game is extremely realistic. The control is unbelievable. However, the guys are right. It is hard to hit the ball…at all. Now, don’t get me wrong. This game is VERY realistic. The computers pitcher can throw curves and sinkers and sliders. It is hard to judge but it just takes some getting used to. I bought the game and I love it. My sister wanted me to buy a baseball game so I went to my local Wal-Mart. I asked which game they sell more of. The lady said Triple Play. But I like to be different so I got All Star 2003 and immediately fell in love with it. I’d say if you want "arcade" gameplay, go with Triple Play. If you want TOTAL realism, go with All Star Baseball.

played in my life. The graphics are outstanding and what minor glitches there are in the game are completely overwhelmed by the positives that the game offers. All I can say about the franchise mode is WOW!!!
