I’ve always enjoyed a good fighting game.My friends have always beaten the snot out of me…but I enjoyed it nonetheless. This game, from the creators of Guilty Gear, is a wonderfully balanced and beautiful game with amazing online play and good one-player difficulty settings. It’s hard to point out anything bad about this game…some would argue that the character roster is too small but this game is truly about quality over quantity. There is no top or bottom tier here, all 10 (12 including bosses) characters are eqaul, even and all very fun to use.The online play is smooth and fun with a lot of people and it has a very good online community too!If you like Guilty Gear and are expecting a repeat of that, it’s close but moreso it’s own beast.Overall I highly suggest this game…and the limited edition comes with a few nice goodies too!

This game is amazing. The graphics are sharp and clean, the soundtrack is perfect, and the gameplay can be enjoyed for hours at a time. If your a fan of 2-D fighters you’ll love this one. The controls are set to help new players and still have the settings for seasoned gamers. Its a lot like Guilty Gears with the soundtrack and graphics but the story is unique. I highly recommend this game. The Limited Edition is the same price as the original so go all out. The LE has a 2 disc soundtrack and a DVD with tips and other goodies.

Great game, you will love it if you were a Guilty Gear fan and the learning curve is not that huge.

I played this game on my brothers xbox and I think its an okay fighting game. It gets kind of frustrating sometimes if you play as a different character. My favorite character is Haku men.I recommend this game to anyone who likes fighting games.

BLAZBLUE reminds me so much of Guilty Gear in the way the story is lay out and it hasn’t disappointed me every since I started playing it

Before buying the game, I was reading impressions from different buyers of the games and everyone practically loves it. Even casual players were gushing compliments about the game and I found the character designs interesting so I jumped in. I told my brother I picked it up and the first thing he said was, “Wow – you know that it’s a pretty difficult game right?” After playing it for hours now, I have to agree. It’s more difficult than Street Fighter IV. I’m guessing this may be due to us gamers playing Street Fighter games for over a decade now, making Street Fighter IV quite intuitive. But BlazBlue is something else. It’s safe to say that this is NOT a good game for fighting game newbies to pick up, as cool as it may seem. I’d even go so far as to recommend Street Fighter IV for fighting game newbies over this one. BlazBlue is very offensive oriented, with lengthy combos, air juggles, and traps and penalties for blocking too much. It’s almost like a cross between Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs Capcom 2, blending some of the simpleness of the former with the craziness of the latter. The selection of 12 characters in the game seems meager, but each one plays very uniquely so it’s not like half of them are shoto characters. Sadly, I’d go so far as to say that some of the characters are a bit overpowered, and it’s probably why they’re used so often online. There are four attack buttons: a light, mid, and strong attack and a Drive attack button. The Drive button is what complete.

This game is truly amazing. It may be a 2d fighter, but the graphics are very vibrant and with the 3d backgrounds makes it the best looking 2d fighter to date. Even the opening intro was amazing, I could sit there and listen to it all day. Now to the actual game: The game has 12 characters, but each of them are unique in their style of play(so that means no clone characters). There is also the normal arcade mode, versus mode and score attack mode(not for the faint of heart). And of course, the online mode that is split into player matches and ranked matches. In player matches you can have up to 6 players in a room with customized settings which makes it a very fun experience for the hardcore and the amatuer. Then there is the ranked which is just 1v1’s and is based on a level system. The good thing i like about this game is when you lose you don’t lose any experience, but you gain very little. The one feature in this game that has surprised me was the replay theater which lets you replay matches you played online. Now to the actual gameplay: I thought it is very well done, I’m not the greatest at 2d fighters and there are a few characters I can play with and some that I can’t. This just means the game is for anyone, even if you’re new to 2d fighters. Oh and I almost forgot you got training mode, it’s there for a reason. Overall, this game gets a 5 out of 5 for the plethora of modes, the uniqueness of characters, and allowing any gamer pick up and play this game.

This game is a great buy. Definitely beats out the other fighters that have come out this year. It is a lot of fun, easy to get into and harder to master, the game only has 12 characters but each are very unique in their personalities and playstyles. There is an great story mode which probably has the best story of any fighter, and a fun online mode with a great netcode and player lobbies with up to 6 people, spectating, and being able to save replays.

I’m forced to confess that there was always a flare and personality about the 2D fighters 3D could never snatch up or imitate. Recently I have played Super Street fighter 2 HD mega mix ogling over its’ new redrawn sprites more than I have fooled around with the character editor in Soul Calibur 4. So naturally when I heard about Blazblue I got pretty damned excited. Many people are going to relate Blazblue immediately to Guilty Gear. This is because many of the same designers and programmers are involved in both titles & at a first glance the games look quite similar. Beyond the surface though Blazblue is a very different beast under the hood. While it has the complexities of guilty gear it is much more forgiving to newcomers. You only have to worry about 4 buttons most of the time and if you are “smart” and start out on beginner difficulty you CAN get through story mode and arcade mode with no jet lag.Guilty Gear’s biggest problem is it catered too much to the “elites” of fighting. Story mode was a nightmare because depending on the character you chose in X-2 the “end boss” would be harder and have more bonuses. I remember fighting I-no with Baiken and it was hell to put it mildly. Blazblue completely drops this unfair mechanic giving all 12 characters an equal fighting chance. If you thought the Guilty Gear series looked and sounded great Blazblue is here to raise the bar even higher. The sprites are smoother and more detailed, the orchestral heavy metal music is better, and t.

Not for the feint of heart, BlazBlue is truly a 2D fighter of its own kind. The game is a fantastic exclamation point, and one that pushes the boundaries of 2D fighting games. It’s a hardcore game that also can be fun to the amateurs of this genre, but make no mistake; the challenge is here if you want it. Overall, this is a wonderful addition to the genre and it exemplifies why 2D fighters are still alive and kicking. At first glance the game is a beautiful masterpiece. All character models are drawn in high-res sprites. Backgrounds are done in 3D, and the blend of both equate to a wonderful convergence of visuals. The game is pretty to say the least. Each character also has a fun and quirky style reminiscent of Guilty Gear’s lineage of outlandish character stock. We have cat girls, huge breasted beauties, mechanical marionettes, and countless odd yet cool fighters. If you can find your own quirk, there is bound to be a respectable character to scratch that itch within the game’s 12 playable fighters. Sound, too, boasts a caliber of oomph, which is usually accompanied by a mash-up of heavy metal riffs and classical music. While to some this might be an irritating soundtrack, I didn’t find it to be annoying and it blended quite well with the high-intensity fights on screen. The one thing that can detract from the experience is the constant yelling and yelping that accompanies each move characters make. Some are more irritating than others (Tao for example comes to.
