I waited to buy this game until the Playstation Network was back online, because this game is made for online.. yes it does have a campaign but Brink is truly about the multiplayer. While I was waiting on the PSN to come back online I saw the bad reviews popping up everywhere for this game and it made me worried but I think the reviewers compared this game to other games in the FPS genre it has nothing in common with. Brink is not call of duty. If I had to explain Brink I would put it like this: Brink is Team Fortress 2, Borderlands, and Timesplitters all put into a blender and perfectly mixed to near perfection.Brink is all about team work. The game does not track K/D ratios or any of that, in fact killing people in Brink gives you very little XP. You get XP for helping your teammates and completing objectives. The scoreboard is based soley on XP, and you can use this XP to unlock new weapons, clothes, etc.I’ve been playing this online for the past couple of days and the first time I put it in and joined an online game it lagged and it lagged bad. Since then a small patch has come out and it did fix somewhat. I will often have games with no lag at all for an hour or two then join another room and its unbearable, I really wish they had servers instead of direct p2p match making. The game at this time is not unplayable by any means and the people at Splash Damage are going to continually offer patches to fix things so there is still hope that the lag issues get fixed at some poi.

Picked up this game yesterday, played through the campaign and I LOVE IT! Now just a matter of time before I can play online (PSN is still down unfortunately…) Sure the campaign is short and their is no real story, but that no reason to hate this game. The idea of this game was to blend the lines between multi-player and single player modes and it has done that quite effectively. This game was to be a mainly online title, using the single player as a sort of practice mode. For all other PS3 FPS lovers out there, if your patience, you should go out and get this game, ASAP. If you’d prefer to just play this game online, then wait for the PlayStation Network to come back and then, most definitely, pick up a copy of Brink.

Just got this game and have put about 10 hours into it. Here’s the deal, it is definitely fun. I know people have talked about lots of problems , i have had none, maybe the new dlc improved the things that didn’t work well. This game is different than most multilayer type of games, it is a bit more complex for 1 thing but not that bad. I was afraid there wouldn’t be a lot to do. There is a lot . First you can do the challenges. You can play the campaign on your own, or go back and compete against others. The bots seem to be really quite good, so playing on your own is actually quite fun but a bit too easy on normal to me. There are messages to get that explain the story, i recommend that you do the campaign on own to get the story, if you play competitively you will need to go back to understand what’s going on. The graphics in the game are okay, nothing close to crisis 2 for example. The parkour is fun, but could have been better. One additional button command would have made it really good. I do not like that you just push one button and you go where you want, you should have to do a timing jump or something like in mirror’s edge.Other complaint is i wished people played campaign online as well and not just the competition mode. Anyway, game is really good and would be better if more people would play. The free dlc has really improved this game. For the price its a good buy.I will update in a few days.IUpdate: This game is better than I thought. What a shame more people haven.

This game is awesome as i stated. But i totally agree the AI in this game is terrible.THIS GAME SHOULD ONLY BE PURCHASED IF YOU INTEND TO PLAY ONLINE WITH FRIENDS OR THE ONLINE COMMUNITY!Gun customization is great and on a nice T.V. this game is beautifulOverall a good buy over the other games out right now.

Brink is reminiscent of the old Team Fortress. Highly customizable characters that play as different jobs (Soldier, Engineer, Medic, Operative). Fun game, works better with multiple people playing over a network instead of 1 player with bots.

I don’t think I expected much from Brink. After all, I got it for only $10 in the used bin at Gamestop. However, once I popped it in, I was immediatly hooked on it. The game features fantastic objective-based gameplay, near unlimited customization, and smooth and intuitive controls. I wish there were more people playing online, but I still think this is a great game that is more than worth the current asking price. The story is that a floating city called the Ark is the last remain of human society in a future Earth ravaged by global-warmings effects on the globe. The Ark is split between two factions: the Security, who wishes to keep everyone on the Ark for their safety, and the Resistance, who want to leave the Ark to search for other civilizations in the world.Brink is clearly trying to set itself apart from other games in its story. I can say that it succeeds in its overall setting and premise, but there is still something missing from the story. First of all, there is no official campaign. Sure, the game tells you it’s a campaign mode, but all it is is a multiplayer game with AI bots filling up the rosters. I was pretty disappointed by this. Also, all you get storywise in the campaign is a twenty to thirty second cutscene at the beginning and the end of each level that describes the mission’s overall goal. That’s it. Sure, there are your teammates talking to each other, but you don’t know anything about them. Who are they? What is their job in the squad? You’ll never know.

When I played Bethesda’s Brink I knew right away that this would put all other games at the bottom of the list. From the graphics to the gameplay and from the customization to the online this game beats every other game on the market. Call of Duty, nah. Battlefield, nah. Skyrim, nah. This game beats them all. I bought it for only 15 brand new at gamestop. And when I bought it I was expecting a game that would be kinda bad since it was such a low price. But when I got home, put it in, and played it for the first time, I called gamestop right away and asked why Brink was only 15 new. They said what do you mean? That’s the price. And I said for a game this good it should stay at 60, forever. Seriously, I don’t care what you’re doing right now place an order for it here on retrolio or go out and buy it. Its almost out of stock at all Gamestops because there is such a high demand for it, and its already been out for 1.5yrs. I’m surprised that this did not get game of the year and every other possible award. Alright, now I’m gonna tell you why this game is so good. First, the gameplay. I mean come on, how much could one ask for in a video game? This game delivers everything you’ve ever wanted in video game game play. The controls are so easy to handle and better yet they are easy to master to become a pro at Brink. Next, the difficulty. This is game by far way too easy. I mean I once got a 5,000 kill streak online. Now, for the online part. Oh, its so awesome. To sum everything up th.

Ignore the bad reviews! This game is really really fun! I have had so much fun playing this with my friend and I would recommend this game to anybody. Normally I will get mad at games for some noob who killed me. But in this game I can actually say “Oh that was my fault for charging in there I shouldn’t do that again” This game is underrated and lots of Call of Duty idiots rate this game badly.
