This is a biased review because this game has been my favorite for a long time and the PSP version only improves the previous PSX version. The product is very good though and I recommend watching an actual video game review online to see if this game is for you, but if you love JRPGs, strategy games and good Game of Throne type stories, you’ll love this.

I have a copy of this game in PS1, PSP and PS3 version.

The game arrived in perfect condition and it works perfectly. I haven’t had time to play it for long, but it is a fun and entertaining game.

Final Fantasy Tactics is a re-make of a Playstation 1 game, with several added tweaks and features. First and foremost, several new jobs have been added as well as animated and voiced cutscenes in place of most of the scripted scenes that took place using the in game engine. Another change is the way of speaking, using a more archaic lexicon then the contemporary vocabulary of the PS1.Make no mistake, this game is extremely unforgiving. Death is permanent for any character is is a full time member of your party, and often times it really feels like the dice are loaded against you in many of the battles. Two more downsides were a lack of quick save during battles, and the frequency of random battles. It would have been nice to fight a side battle any time I wished instead of having to save each place I moved too in case I ran into the dreaded chocobo death squad and had to reload. Another gripe is the inability to see what the enemy is fielding so you can adjust your squad accordingly, and unlike Disgaea, you can’t swap out characters either, leaving one to sink or swim by what they bring along.Aside from these gripes, the story, mechanics, and system are solid and engaging. Its a game I highly recommend to any RPG player.

I first played this game back in ’97 when it came out. I was really happy to see this come to PSP(it was the reason I bought it)It’s a strategy RPG, that has a really good story, insanely addictive game play, and almost endless customization. I was hoping the PSP port wouldn’t dissapoint, and it sure didn’t.They added quite a bit to this version, including new characters, battlefields, job classes, and even multi-player. You can now battle with friends to see who has the best team, or just team up to take down some pretty intense missions.PROs:- Great story, characters, and the graphics hold up.- New CG’s that add to the story.- A new translation to try and clear up any vague details from the PSX version.- New Multi-Player is a lot of fun.CONs:- A little lag sometimes on certain moves only. This isn’t very noticeable though in my opinion. Compared to the PSX version it’s nothing big.All in all, this is reason enough to own a PSP. If you liked the original or are just a big RPG fan I’d definitely recommend this.

Great game, i’ve already bought it digital, but i had to get the physical version. The tactics gamplay and story are the strength of this game, and you will not be disappointed (if you still have a psp)

If you love tactical RPGs (TRPGs) then you must check this game out. Gameplay requires a good amount of strategy and character management is important. The game’s job system allows for a good deal of flexibility in how you play your characters since each character can only have one job at a time but they can still use abilities from another job of your choosing (in addition to abilities of the job they currently have). It is also quite challenging. The story of the game is very deep and one of the best I’ve seen in any game (considering how many games I’ve played, that’s saying something). My only complaint would be the music, which ranges from “tolerable, but tiresome after you hear it too much” to “good but not great”, I think a game like this deserves some better music but it’s not a huge deal.On a side note, one of my dreams is that one day there’ll be an FF Tactics game on the PS3 with HD graphics, better AI, a deep storyline, better music, and with the same tactical gameplay…. SquareEnix should definitely do it (but they won’t because lately it seems like they have no idea what they’re doing).
