This is easily my favorite of all the yakuza games so far. The story is great, there is tons of things to do, Goro Majima is finally a playable protagonist, the music is awesome, the gameplay is as fun as always. I easily give this game 5 stars

This is by far my favorite Series in all of gaming, Kiryu is such a dope character and the adventure Sony has created for us Shenmue fans is nothing short of sublime. After this I will be playing Yakuza 5, and when Yakuza 6 comes to the west in 2018 I will be on that like Kiyru’s fist on a fool’s face

Fantastic beat em up- if that’s what your looking for. Good story with interesting and funny characters. The music fits but the game in a nut shell is like the other v or 6. Id give it a 5 if you never played a yakuza game. Just remember this is a beat em up underneath it all.

I had never played a Yakuza game before and I was looking for a good way to be introduced to the series. If the remaining games are anything like this one, then I am looking forward to the subsequent entries. The story can be a little melodramatic at times, but that is part of the charm (it will start to grow on you). I was also surprised at the sense of humor in this game. More of the side quests are very entertaining and are well written. There is a lot to do in the game and various mini games for you to engage in. There were two rhythm heavy mini games which were not my forte, but fun to watch. I also spent quite a bit of time at the slot car races then I would like to admit.Combat has a lot of depth, but I found myself relying on a style with an easy to mash combo for most enemies. For the bosses, I typically cheesed one combo. There is so much depth and at least four styles for each character that it can be really easy to forget which moves apply to which styles, which is why I opted for the more mashy path.Graphically, the game alternates between looking pretty good to pretty surreal. I found that areas at night tended to have the most favorable impressions for me. Sound design is solid with ambient noise bringing many of the areas of the game to life and combat feeling engaging. As for an entry point, Yakuza 0 doesn’t rely on you to know any of the characters from the previous games as it is introducing everyone. There were a couple moments were you could tell t.

What else can honestly be said about this game that hasn’t already been covered. I played the original Yakuza back on the PS2 when I was fairly young. I remembered that game being the first video game to ever make me sad, and bring tears to my eyes. Sadly I can barely remember it now, and hope to correct that soon with Kiwami. However as for this game. What I do remember from Yakuza 1, is made even more tragic and upsetting because of this game. This is the absolute best place to start for this franchise in my opinion. This series has been criminally underrated for years, due mainly to their unwillingness to import to the west, because Japan is weird about their video games. This game has almost everything you could ask for, and more. It has Karaoke, Disco Dancing, Phone Dating, Arcades with real, old school arcade games, an underground female fighting tournament you can bet money on where all the women wear blatantly sexual outfits, a fighting tournament for men you can participate in, real softcore porn videos you can watch at an Adult Store that the character masturbates to in comedic fashion, it has a Real Estate mini game with a side story attached that unlocks an amazing Fighting Style when finally completed, another mini game managing a Cabaret Club with basically a copy paste storyline, however this was by far the most enjoyable mini game to me. It has some of the most well constructed and well timed humor I’ve seen in a game for a very long time. I was laughing out lo.

    Brand new game as adverstised

Yakuza 0 was the perfect way for any new-comers to ease their way into the Yakuza series. I have always loved playing Yakuza as a kid, but was merely too young to understand it. I am happy that Sega was remaking most of the series (hopefully they are all available in North America). Kiryu and Majima has such a interesting background that I never get bored, it was cool to see them develop character. The fighting formula is awesome and the way to make money in the game is great and fun. I just hoped that Kiryu and Majima would’ve had more interactions together as friends.

Loveeee the game~ I love the main story along with the side stories, this game is really worth playing. The gameplay is nice, it is also educational haha ngl but I love it! Yakuza 6 is coming out soon and I’m so excited! this game made me want to collect all releases of this title. The details in the game is lit :) BLESSED THAT IT HAD AN U. S release with subs

Only about half way through the story, and it is easily in my all-time top 3 for best story in a video game. Sega made the right call by going with English subtitles and keeping the original Japanese voice acting. They really hit this one out of the park.Boss battles are challenging but not impossible for button mashers to get through in normal mode, so casual fans of fighter games will not be left feeling frustrated and outmatched.Gameplay is much like how many westerners view Japanese culture – quirky with some flaws, but so much fun that you are willing to look past the flaws of using last-gen technology for a game engine. The mini games and side quests are really quirky, to the point where they are genuinely fun to play.Have never played any of the previous Yakuza titles, but am definitely a fan of this game. This game will win awards in 2017.Old school game design meets modern day excellence in story telling
