This game is amazing. Sometimes the controls are a little inconsistent, but other than that, the power struggles between the uruks are really cool, the graphis are fantastic, especially when it rains, and the fighting is just awesome–very similar to the arkham games and assassin’s creed.

  3. Jeff Nguyen

I loved this game’s storyline and how to can always roam around doing shenanigans. The only issue with the gameplay is that it can get extremely repetitive when you get close to mid game.

Shadow of Mordor is a game I never expected to get let alone love. Its one of those games that blindsides you by just how good it is. Its a solid Batman Arkham City/Assassin’s Creed hybrid. Taking the best elements of those games and putting them in a Lord of the Rings setting. The combat is fluid and fun, the environments gorgeous and the orcs varied and oozing with personality. Speaking or those guys, Shadow of Mordor’s ace in the hole, what sets it apart from everything else. The nemesis system. The idea is that every orc has the potential to level up to captain upon killing you. Each orc is part of a hierarchy and they can level up as the game progresses Or if you kill one another will take his place. You can control or work with some of them to manipulate the landscape. Its a brilliant innovation that more open world games should adopt. The story is solid, but nothing special. It won’t impact you but its also not terrible. Serviceable is the best word for it. Oddly that is okay given that several stories emerge from the nemesis system. For example, if you don’t explicitly execute an Orc captain he can come back and attack you, looking scarred or disfigured from your last encounter. Usually they’ll do this when you least expect or can’t handle the extra heat. Because of the game’s ability to render so many npcs on screen at once you can easily get overwhelmed too. So making sure these guys don’t come back to get revenge is imperative to your success. If you have been disa.

Bought this along with a frw others when i got my xbox one. Picked it up for cheap and didn’t know what to expect. It takes a few hours to learn the controls and the combat. After that it becomes incredibly satesfying. There is lots to do and lots to kill, as your powers grow so does your need your need to keep playing. I got this on sale for 1/4 of the retail but i would have gladly payed full price. Lots of value here. Lots of fun.

This is one of the best games I have played on the Xbox One. I picked this game up when it was on sale over the holidays and I do not regret my decision at all. If you are a fan of action adventure games you will love this one. I have done every single story mission and side mission in this game. I am working on getting 100% of the achievements in the game. I have only done that with one game before. MUST OWN!

If you like Assassin’s Creed or the batman games, then you will like this game too. It has the combat as these games, along with cool new things, like the ability to ride animals and the ability to teleport to any enemy that you aim your bow at (this is my favorite thing to do). All of the reviews for this game make it look like there’s no story and that it’s all just killing orcs; however, there is story to this game, although not as much as some of the Assassin Creed games. It’s a good game to play even when you’re really tired, since it doesn’t require that much concentration. There are lots of side-missions too that keep the game fun even after you beat it.

I was on the fence about this, but it got such good reviews that I had to try it. MAN, I’m glad that I did!!! This is a great game. The story is good. The combat is awesome. I read reviews where people were complaining about how hard this game is when you first start it and how it caused them to quit the game. They clearly don’t play enough video games or they just suck at them. The beginning is hard, but not overly difficult to that point. Give it a try. I think you will like it.

combat is not as fluid as the Arkham series but it is very close to it. I would advise playing one PC, Xbox One, & PS4 only as then you get to experience the nemesis system which is THE core feature of the game. This feature makes your encounters with certain enemies a unique experience, they will remember if you beat them, ran from them, or they ran from you.
