If you’ve played any of the Batman Arkham games (I.e. Batman Arkham Asylum, City, etc) you’ll be very familiar with the controls and the combat mechanics. Another plus, if you’re also a fan of Lord of the Rings, this adds the cherry on top. I got this game on Black Friday and I do not regret my purchase. Whenever I play it I can never stop playing. Just like the Batman Arkham games, there is a big enough world to explore and free roam, with the addition of the nemesis system where there are Uruk captains and war chiefs varying in power that you can take down or if you are defeated by them, they become more powerful as time progresses.

I really enjoyed this game! I am a hardcore videogame fan and a fan of lord of the rings and hobbit movies. It really is a great story expanding on the tokken universe and it keeps you playing more and more. The gameplay on it plays like the assassin’s creed meets arkham asylum games which makes the combat flowing. There are some if any downsides with the combat. the enemies tend to get more and more harder the later you play though. you will find yourself a lot or running away that is gonna happen but there are side missions to make your character more powerful to take them on. also the camera did mess up on me a couple of times in combat but overall it wasn’t as bad to tarnish the game. This is a truely unique game to come out and needs a sequel for sure. Enjoy!

good fun for lord of the rings and adventure video game fans alike. fun combat and good cutscenes and story mode, with nice music and atmosphereh

I dropped about 80 hours on this campaign and loved it. Very difficult at first until you learn to run away when you pull too many baddies. Once you acquire certain skills, then the fighting becomes pretty epic. I was a bit disappointed by the linear ending given how open the world was, but it’s definitely worth playing through once.

Finally a redeeming game for Middle Earth. What an awesome game and amazing price now. It does feel a lot of Assassin’s Creed at times but that is fine, the system for orc ranks adds a whole new experience that is worth every moment. I recommend playing on a higher difficult to build some awesome rivalries!

Bought as a gift, the recipient told me the game was “awesome.”

I bought Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor after it won Game of the Year from Gamestop. It absolutely deserved that award! This is a masterful and clean production of some of the most fun and interesting story and game mechanics I have played in a game in my life! If you review the game at all you we see and hear people constantly related this game to Assassin’s Creed and the Batman Arkham series and these comments are 100% right. This game out right steals the fighting the stealth and fighting mechanics of Batman Arkham and that is a wonderful thing. It works and well! They change everything to make it unique and incredibly exciting and there are so many different ways to tackle a situation that it makes every situation a unique one. There are always enviromental factors that can effect the outcome of a fight, if you choose to do so and the fact that it is left up to the skill of the person playing is great. The other fantastic game mechanic is the Nemisis system in the game. Your enemies are all randomly generated, meaning that every bady will be different from the next when compared to someone elses experience. I have had so much fun sharing my stories with my friends and seeing how we are completely experiencing the game on a different level. Overall, this game is worth your money and a lot of fun to play!

The game is very fun. It is a mix of Batman Arkham City and Assassin’s Creed. Though the world/scenery is not as flushed out as those games. My only gripe/complaint would be the story is relatively short. The combat and nemesis system is fun. The enemies are well-down. The character skins don’t offer much variety, that being said this doesn’t effect the gameplay or enjoy-ability of the game at all.I would recommend this game to a Lord of the Rings fan, as the story is quiet good. The enemies are well-down though in the game very little. The orc army is also well down. Alsoif you are a fan of the Arkham games, this game would be worth checking out.I gave it a 5/5 despite the main story being relatively short, because I enjoyed the game very much and Trials portion of the game add more playability and content.

When I bought my Xbox one I opted to get the system without assassin’s creed. Nothing against it, just have had my fair share of the game on the 360.Then comes an exciting to title like this game that has very similar game play to assassin’s creed only it’s way better. There are a number of missions and the gameplay isn’t as easy. It’s challenging at times and will keep you on edge. The controls took a while to master but you’ll find that you’re always going to improve if you want to stay alive. Great game

Really looked forward to this game, however once it was released I just kept putting off purchasing it. When I finally did, I enjoyed playing it however it didn’t hook me. Put maybe 6-8 hours into it over the first 2 weekends and haven’t gone back to it. Maybe one day I will finish it.
