I recommend this title for anyone who has a PS Vita. It is one of the most amazing games I have ever experienced. Not only does it have interesting storylines and great gameplay, but it also has extensive stories so you’ll be playing for a little while. Not to mention they are beginning to release DLC for this game which could possibly be an even better experience than playing the original game. Definitely a must have.

Better than the Wii version, this pocket version of Muramasa is a thrilling action-RPG, beautiful and fun, even if it have a repetitive gameplay.

Great game looks amazing on the ps vita! The collector edition is worth the money the extras are nice the case for the vita itself is not that great cheap plastic but I did find that I can use it as a makeshift stand.

A direct re-release on the PlayStation Vita of Oboro: Muramasa (also known as Muramasa the Demon Blade), originally released on the Nintendo Wii. Muramasa: Rebirth is an RPG arcade style side scrolling hack and slash game. It is decently comperable to Dragon’s Crown and Odin Sphere in both art team and gameplay. I found that having two different story arcs and multiple endings for both made it a much longer game in the long run, despite its short, 4 or so hour game length. There are tons of optional challenges scattered throughout the game, great mythological bosses, and tons of swords to forge and collect (over a hundred), each with their own unique special attacks attached to them. To fully complete the game it would honestly take around 15 hours or so, but tge game is decently replayable, and had 4 or so Downloadable Content chapters and playable characters within their own story modes. It adds quite a good amount of play time because of the extra chapters, I’d say clocking in at around 30-35 hours. It’s got visually captivating art and a pretty good soundtrack, and even a bit of humor, some dry humor and even some more provocative and mature humor, and just enough of it so that the game can be taken seriously but not way too seriously to the point of being dull. Personally, I really liked Muramasa Rebirth, but I found Dragon’s Crown had more to it (plus Dragon’s Crown has decent multiplayer and slightly better controls). This game can seem repetitive on occasion, but isn’.

Great action RPG. Fun combat and gorgeous. If you like action games such as DMC, Dust: An Elysian Tale, or Guacamelee you’ll enjoy this game.

When I first played Muramasa: The Demon Blade on a friends Wii, I was more than a little disappointed that it wasn’t going to make the jump to HD consoles. Still, it was a fantastically fun game (minus pressing up to jump, which was an awful design decision). Years later, Muramasa has made the jump to the Playstation Vita, and it’s a wonderful port indeed. The graphics have held up wonderfully and in fact look even better on the 960 x 544 Oled screen in my opinion. Gameplay wise, the awful up to jump nonsense has been dropped in favor of the more standard jump button. Combat is fast and frenetic as it’s always been, and I’ve not noticed so much as a single frame drop in the 25 some odd hours I’ve been playing. My only complaints are the same ones I had with the Wii version- There is far too much back-tracking which very quickly begins to wear thin on ones patience. The other one is that enemy variety for standard mooks is extremely low- You will be fighting the same bloody ninja and samurai over and over with the rare monster or ghost to liven things up a little bit before it’s back to killing ninja and samurai again. That said, amazing bosses, music, gameplay, and glorious artwork swoop into to save the day before boredom can set in. I can’t recommend this game enough, and I’m stoked to play Dragon’s Crown in the near future.

    Beautiful game, awesome extras.

    awesome ending

I liked the replayability of this game. It is like playing Castlevania SotN (still on the same theme, demons and collecting items). Beautiful graphic and the Japanese dialogue (with English subs) is a plus also. It is a bit boring when I had to run through the map since I might not encounter enemies in each time I entered a new area but the scenery makes it bearable. :)You can teleport to another town from any save points by speaking with the fox familiar.
