  • The cartridge slot is the result of Nintendo’s attempts to hide the fact that the NES played video games.
  • Most NES games produced after 1986 exceeded the basic capabilities of the system and depended on add-on RAM and coprocessors built into the carts to work.

THE NES!!! There is not much that I can say that hasn’t already been said, so I’ll try to keep this short and sweet: The NES arrived in perfect condition, it was a little dusty but being a system that’s 25 years old, that’s to be expected. A quick cleaning with compressed air and it was good as new. I popped in a game and sure enough it worked just fine, meaning that the 72 pin connector was neither damaged nor dirty, but i opened it up any way and gave it a once over, the internals looked great and after a quick clean and i was pleased to see that no internals were rusted. I use this system WAY more then my x box and that’s saying something! BOTTOM LINE: A GREAT BUY,AND I WOULD BUY THIS AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!

One old school video game system that actually needs to be cleaned before use but other then that good system I play it

Hey,kids!!!!(the brats from the newer generations of gaming!!!!). Let me show you a magical world of how good gaming was!!!! Gaming sucks now,but it was great then!!!! How about we see how good 8-bit graphics were back in the 1980s. (Oh,yeah,I’m going to teach you a BIG Lesson on video gaming history,so,get ready). Nes historyThe nes was originally released in 1983. It had 8-bit graphics and bebby sounds.(for the time,it was good). The big hit for the nes was super mario bros. Super Mario bros was released in 1984 and sold 40 million copies. All the sudden, nintendo was popular and everyone wanted a nes. Children begged their parents to buy them a nes with super Mario bros. I’m telling you,the nes was a huge hit for the market. Before all this, all Nintendo had was pac-man.(don’t get me wrong,pac-man is really fun and addicting, but that’s all Nintendo had for gaming). Even before that, all Nintendo did was sell trading cards. But,Nintendo made the nes,and everyone loved it. It went on for years. It became out dated during the late 80s,and early 90s. Still, gamers of all ages still play this legendary game system. Best game for nesThe nes has unforgettable video games. Obviously, super Mario bros is going to be here. It’s always going to be number one for the nes. It’s a classic, and the beging of mario. The legends of zelda is another recommend game. Another, classic. Then came zelda 2:The adventure of link. Metorid,is one of the best too. There aren’t many games for the nes, but,t.

  7. Marc Bolduc

Nes was a great buy and works fine. It came with all cords and one controller

  9. Shogg

The Nintendo Entertainment System brought the world out of the gaming crash of 1983 and is considered by many older game players to be the best home console of all time. I’m of the mind that this is a console that nobody calling themselves a ‘gamer’ should be without. This is the launch-pad where Mario, Samus, Link and, many other great characters were introduced to the world. It may look a little out of date but it takes up less space than the Xbox360 and, Playstation 3. The controller is also greatly simplified compared to today’s standards, utilizing a single command cross (or control pad), 2 action buttons (‘a’ and ‘b’) and, a start-and-select button. Despite the simplicity of the control scheme for most games, Nintendo games are thought to be the most challenging to play. Games such as Ninja Gaiden, Zelda 2 and, Punch-Out for example have beaten many hardened gamers since their release.Graphically, the Nintendo has not aged well at all. The number of available colors and, number of colors that can be displayed translate into games that look blocky with simple backgrounds. Use of one’s imagination will greatly help of course and the Nintendo is more robust than older consoles like the Atari 2600 or, the Atari 7800. The Nintendo is unable to utilize stereo sound as well and while the sound quality can be poor at times there are many iconic sounds and, tunes that made their debut on the Nintendo console. Be warned when purchasing a Nintendo Entertainment System as they are.

awesome game system, i held out for a non yellowing, all original in almost new condition console and its worth every penny. the orginal is still far better than any of the current retros.
