Ahh, the system that started it all for me, and millions of others on the tail end of "Generation-X". My parents thought they had bought a Pandora’s box home, but parents of a future, more enlightened age will see video games in a better light – they are as stimulating for the mind as books are even if they don’t impart as much historical information or wisdom.What more can be said about the classic 8-bit system? It is still fun to play, for starters, and for an old guy of 26 like me, having to keep track of a mere 2 controller buttons instead of the 50 or so on gamecube or xbox is pleasing.Little kids might be able to kick my — in Halo but I’ll beat Super Mario Bros in 1/4 the time of any of those whippersnappers.

The Nintendo Entertainment System(NES)was the first console released by Nintendo. It was a 8bit gaming system, that helped re-vamp the troubled gaming industry in the mid 80’s. The NES had various accessories to use with it. One of which was the Nintendo Zapper. It was a gun that came with the system & a Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cartridge. You could use the gun to hunt ducks or use it to shoot clay discs in a different mode. Also the Turbo Pad, a big pad you lay on the floor. And you use it for games like track & field,ect….There we’re wireless controllers (that didn’t work good),a robot (Robby) that was made to play with or against you. He would sometimes just randomly reset the game on you (not cool). And then there was the Power Glove! It was a glove that would supposedly allow you to punch towards the TV, and it’d do it in the game. It also had a control pad on it too! The system has 2 control ports, and comes with a RF adapter to hook up to the TV. It does however, have AV inputs on the side of the system. The NES is truly a classic console. And really could be the reason us gamers are able to enjoy the systems of today. It was a huge success and got kids,teens, and even adults into gaming again. Nintendo did a great job providing awesome games! For those of you that like old school games/systems I recommend this! I actually had my son play this first, when he started gaming @ age 2. He still plays this (at age 9) with me and my girlfriend.If you are looking to buy.
