Pokemon Gold for Gameboy Color takes place several years after Red, Blue and Yellow, and puts the user into a brand new world, Johto. The gameplay is very similar to the previous games but with many improvements. These include new functions for the player’s Pokegear, a Pokedex that can now be sorted by evolution type and of course, many new Pokemon to catch and train! The objective of the game is to become the champion trainer, and try to complete the Pokedex. To become the champion, the player battles Gym Leaders to obtain various badges. Completing the Pokedex requires a different set of actions, and involves capturing wild Pokemon, battling various trainers to obtain money, and trading Pokemon with NPC’s and other players of Pokemon games.

Leona Thunderheart –
A lovely follow-up to Red, Blue,and Yellow. Some game mechanics have changed for the better and others for the worse, but overall this is a step up from the original games. Major improvements include a pack with compartments rather than a single pack for all items; the ability to choose one item to use by just pressing Select (I recommend using the bicycle for that); being able to use an HM move outside of battle by pressing A; and being able to earn money postgame. Some drawbacks include the absence of the Pokeflute; no access to the Safari Zone; and the shorter battery life (7 years for GSC vs. 15 years for RBY, due to the internal clock function). Also is quite annoying to try to catch the legendary beasts. All in all, though, a brilliant game.

It didn’t come with any original packaging but that was totally fine. It was for my husband and he really just wanted to play the game. He found my old game boy color and felt very nostalgic. LOL regardless the game runs like a champ.

An original copy of Pokemon Gold version, in dang near perfect condition, I am happy. Only thing that bugs me is the front lid on the cartridge itself will not stay in place, because the tiny screw to keep the two lids, and fragile game chip inside, is missing…I don’t know if it was already like that before sending, or if someone forgot to put the screw back in upon cleaning and inspection…but I’m a bit bummed I’ll be having to use some sort of tape to keep the lid on. Overall, would definitely purchase from this seller again.

I bought this game played it for an hour and tried to save when i turned my gameboy back on there was no save file it took a while to fix but afterward it played fine but i still love the game because it is a very fun game but I reccomend playing fire red/leaf green to get some of the storyline first otherwise some parts aay confuse you

Bought it and it didn’t even go past the Gameboy color start up screen. when the cartridge is picked up it rattles as if something inside is broken. As a game collector I am very disappointed.
