My SEGA Genesis arrived several days BEFORE it was due. It appears to be in great shape. I will provide more updates after I use it.

I purchased a Sega Genesis console back in November 1989. My Genesis is still in mint condition and I pull it out once in a while to relive the classics. If you do not own one of these gems, I highly recommend that you pick one up! There are hundreds of titles available, most of which sell for only a few dollars. Some of these titles are among the greatest video games ever created; you must own these if you’re a collector. While playing these games, it’s important to consider the limits the game developers were constrained to. Unlike today’s consoles – with seemingly unlimited CPU power, bandwidth and memory – the developers were forced to work with a very small amount of storage capacity to hold graphics and sound data. Over time, these developers came up with some very clever techniques to overcome these limitations. I recall being “wowed” by the effects in games such as Gunstar Heroes and Earthworm Jim…effects I had no idea my little old Genesis could do more than five years after owning it! Over time, I came to really appreciate these efforts and continued looking forward to how much further the envelope would be pushed.Below is a list of must-own games for the Genesis. This is by no means a definitive list; these are just my favorites among those games I have played.Platformers: Sonic 1, 2 & 3, Chuck Rock 2, Castle of Illusion, Ristar, Alex Kidd, Earthworm Jim, Aladdin, Ecco, Flink*(see bottom) and Shinobi 3.Fighters/Brawlers: Golden Axe, Streets of Rage 1 & 2.

This review is for a Sega Genesis – Model 1. I have been playing genesis games on the AtGames Sega Genesis, which has been a blast. I think that the Model 1 has better sound, though I enjoyed the sound using carts on the AtGames model. The graphics seem smoother and the games seem a little more responsive. So, the Model 1 is an improvement over the AtGames version, which I already loved.

Its a Genesis. The quality goes with out saying. The particular shop of this Genesis forgot to mention that the reset button doesnt work, but that was no big deal. Be sure to read the comments of every used console and if you have concerns about anything, dont be afraid to email the shopd for more info.

… my old sega that I had since ’92. A few years ago my sister moved back home and trashed my Genesis and the games I had with it. I regretted not taking it with me when I moved out. Later she told me she gave it to Goodwill but I don’t know which upset me more. Anyway, I recently bought another one because I missed playing mine and mostly I got it for my kids because the games of today aren’t as fun as the old school games like Sonic and ToeJam & Earl. It was worth buying another system because back then, some things were still made to last and now everything breaks so easily. The Genesis system and the cartridges were made to last a long time.

Made a great retro Christmas gift.

Works perfectly. I did however have to buy a new AV cord because the RF switch didn’t work. Other than that there are no issues.

It was Chanukah 1991 i was 11 years old. My dad came home with Huge box wrapped in tin foil. When i opened it i was blown away. it was a sega genesis ! i had wanted one so bad because of the 16 bit graphics. i had played on my brothers Atari and his Nes but this was my own console. 20 plus years later the baby still works.i still remember the system being well built and being well assembled. There are lots of tittles and some are reallly cheap. This was sega at its best. while i don’t really remember the pros and cons of the system (i have only turned it on in the last 5 years but have not played a game in 15 years on it) i will go over some great gamesSonic 2Mortal KombatEternal championsFlashback the quest for identity (amazing game great graphics)Red zoneTruxtonZany golfBurning forceAll in all if you can get one get one. Its one of the best systems of all time

Genesis is freaking awesome, and although the Super NES is something higher then “freaking awesome”, Genesis is still fun. It brought along Sonic, the running blue hedgehog that defined gaming with his fast paced colorful worlds, a variety of sports games with memorable quotes (“WELCOME TO WORLD SERIES BASEBALL!”
