Agrippa is a centurion in the Roman army. Patroling the outskirts of Germania, his regimant hapens upon a captured roman messenger, who tells him Ceaser has been assasinated. Arriving home his friend, informs him that Agrippa’s own father has been arrested for the murder. The Roman empire decides to hold gladitorial games and the winner will execute Agrippa’s father… You cannot lose.Since retrolio doesn’t carry this title anymore, I had to buy it from sam’s club for like 15$ Sam’s is not a bad place to buy old games, I’ve seen Silent Hill 2 there as well. From start to finish this game offers one of the best stories I’ve played in a long time. In fact, this has one of the best stories I’ve ever heard of. Sure those of you who have just seen Gladiator may find a closeresemblance [even though it’s just the gladiator part], this is an exelent plot, which is why i’ve given it two stars for just the plot alone [for those of you familiar with my reviews, this is the first time I’ve ever given 2 stars for a plot].I give it 1 star for graphics. The eviornments are some of the best i’ve ever seen in a ps2 game. You know the graphics are superb when you hardly notice the intricacy of the walls because you’re so into the game, but when you do look at the walls and notice the archittecure is so right, and the small cracks here and there are visible only to those who look, it’s really good graphics. One star for the graphics. As for the fighting, I give it a star for showing the shere bruta.

For a long time I have been a great fan of Civilization style games. I have always been fascinated by ancient history and its cultures. On the other hand I have always been a huge fan of fighting games such as Street Fighter, Tekken and so on. Now, I have finally got a game that incorporates both worlds! The game is really realistic with great characters and an interesting story. I’m totally hooked!

Shadow of Rome is truly an idea done right. Various companies tried the idea of Gladiatorial Games and does it right. The idea here is that Julias Ceaser has been assassinated and your father is the accused. He is to be executed by the winner of the Gladiatorial Games. You play as Agrippa a Roman Commander who abandons his ranks and becomes a Gladiator in order to save your father. This is the action of the game. The Other part you play Octavionas, the nephew to Ceaser who is trying to uncover the truth, this is the stealth of the game. The action is truly intense however. The violence is definetly at the M Rated level. You can litterally chop off both your opponents arms, beat him with them, and then take a huge Axe and cut him in half, with the top half spinning in the air before it hits the ground. Or you can take a spear, and throw it through your opponents. Yes this definetly gets the M rating. In the stealth though is where it gets tricky. You can’t defend yourself. So you must sneak up on your opponents and knock them out. This is also where you can have the most fun at times. In the stealth missions you can buy stuff for your room. From a sofa to a Tiger, you can have it all.Overall though the real reason anyone would play this is the games themselves which are unlocked at the main menu as soon as you complete it. This increases the replay value some. However the only painful flaw in this game is the lack of a Multiplayer option. Imagine going online a.

When I first got the game I thought it would suck, plus, the price of the game was only 20 bucks. I started and I was amazed by the ways you could slaughter your opponents. I’ve beaten the game 10 times and I feel like it gets better everytime. Just one thing makes me mad. I can’t beat all of the salvo list. I try and try but, I just can’t do it.

Wow! I have to say, this game has kept my growing by the second rearend glued to the couch ever since I got it in the mail.SHADOW OF ROME is truley what a Gladiator game should be, with a great story to go along with it.The opening scene leads you out into the arena and it quickly initiates you into the blood splattering, heart pumping fun.The best thing about SHADOW OF ROME is the fact that the motion while you’re fighting is surprisingly free. Your movement is not restrictive and the controls are fantasic. Dodging by rolling away at the last second as the MAUL drives into the sandy ground where you were a second ago. Numerous ways to fight, attack and kill. I keep finding more.Holding up your bloody hands to the crowd and they throw you food, better weapons and… yes… an occasional ROSE. They really like it when you hold up a recently severed head.SHADOW OF ROME sometimes leaves the arena, to fill in backstory and you take on another character who is trying to discover and prove to everyone that the wrong person is set to be executed for the assassination of JULIUS CAESAR. When it does this, I won’t lie, I’m slightly disappointed because I want to go back to the arena… but… all in all… the story makes the battles in the arena that much more intense and meaningful. This is a fantastic game! Oh… did I mention the arena of Tigers?

What are you gonna do today? Play Shadow of Rome, Gosh! SOR is a great concept and really puts itself out there to hit or miss with players by switching characters and styles of play… lucky, SOR hits the mark like a spiked mallet to the forehead. This game kicked my behind harder than a lesson at Rex Kwan Do and I have to recommend it to all of you. If this game were a chicken it would have large talons so get it on like D-Qwon, the graphics are awe inspiring, well the sequences are, the battle scenes are above average and just sneaking around Rome is pretty detailed but I really enjoyed the gameplay in general. But this game is all about the gore, blood, violence and that is where it is best at captivating attention and imagination. The only downside is that with all the untamed animals there were no Ligers to fend off or 2-player mode to give a little more replay value. Napoleon, even if you can’t afford the fun-pack save up for SOR, it sure beats tetherball.

Posting for the game said it was in very good condition but it almost looks untouched. Case and disc in near perfect condition. Awesome, violent, gory game but still requires some puzzlesolving ability. All around one of my favorite games for this platform.

What can I say about this game that other people haven’t. The gladiator fights are hack n’ slash heaven, the stealth portion of the game is inventive and challenging, even the between the scenes movies are fun to watch and unbelievably realistic. It was like I was watching the movie Gladiator and controlling Russel Crowe’s character. The absolute best part is fightin with an opponent’s arm or head – how awesome is that! Then, you can show the body part to the audience, watch them cheer, and wait for them to throw you a new weapon. There are so many cool weapons to fight with – you will not get bored playing this game. I would say that since I bought it two weeks ago, I’ve played an average of 4 hours a day. I cann’ot drag myself from the game, nor would I want to. You won’t be sorry you bought this game.
