A Heroic Panda –
As a fan of the Warhammer 40k RTS series I was extremely happy with this Action spin-off. Only problem is it becomes slightly repetitive.
Colby –
Fun game to play, love the custom characters, the story line, and the weapons. The graphics are a bit weak in comparison to stuff now but still a great game and buy if you like warhammer 40k.

I love the 40k universe. It’s absolutely fascinating to me. Having played a little 40k table-top in my youth and (more recently) a few months worth of Dark Heresy and Deathwatch, this game was an excellent treat. Running around as a space marine, blasting orks, daemons, and heretics into red mist with huge, powerful weapons… what more could you ask for? Ok… you certainly could ask for more. Space Marine isn’t the most polished or innovative game, but the enviroments are nice and gloomy, and the game is full of interesting looking enemies and decent voice acting. If I was not such a 40k fan I would definately give the game a 4 star – solid game play, high replay value (for when you just gotta smash things into little bits), and an intersing story line. Oh… the game ends on a bit of a cliffhanger and it doesn’t look as if the sequel will ever come to fruition, but you can imagine how things might go (or make your own Deathwatch mission if you like rpgs). Great little game, no complaints worth mentioning.
Call me KID –
I wanted this game so bad, as soon as it got here in the xbox it went and I used normal for difficulty being worried about that, cause on the demo I found game tough. With the simple walk through instructions game is much better now and fairly easy, just a good slice and dice, rampage mode a few different guns including hand gun with unlimited amm, rifle, sniper, and blob to wall and control detonate gun which so far is useless but I think I’ll need it today, just got last night. There are boss Orcs, a good amount of easy combo’s not like Mortal Combat where you need a sheet to show you ton’s of moves. You can kill Orcs a certain way Y then B key to gain health, very important. The brightness control works well so it’s not a dark screen game. It leads you so it’s hard to get lost and give up, great for younger players or people like me who hate being totally lost like in Assasins Creed Revelations or Lost Planet 2. There are pods that give you stuff like a Rocket Pack with Stomp ability. Plenty of Ammo crates have not run out yet and team members if sticking with them instead of storming ahead will carry their own weight for most part. Violence and blood levels / gore are suitable for young ages no worse than Tom and Jerry when we were kids, things splat apart quickly in this game so not bad for young adults, it’s just orcs, no bad language yet at all another plus and just a keep playing game, highly recommend for young or adult, get it got it gone, buy used totally o.

Overview:Space Marine is a good breakout for THQ from their RTS-style WH40k universe. The gameplay is a lot of fun with varied sequences and gives you the feel of being immersed into the WH40k universe as a single SpaceMarine. Third person melee with Over the Shoulder shooter elements and yes, Jump Packs. At the time of this review the MP is being worked on, but still offers a fun experience.Good:Great visuals and gameplay. The campaign keeps you engaged and is pretty fast-paced with a couple of lulls inbetween combat. The health system is different. You have armor that repairs itself but your actual health is only regained from being in combat and performing executions. You are still vulnerable during an execution, so you must time it accordingly. There is a FURY system that allows you to cause additional damage and you can either use it in melee or ranged combat (slows down time). The weapons from WH40k are almost all there, and make for a varied approach in missions. You have your selection of four and then if you find a mounted weapon you can yank it off it’s mounts to tote it around as well. The character moves like you would think, with a number of different melee moves depending upon the melee weapon carried. The best thing is probably the jump pack. Death From Above is so much fun and gets you into battle all that much sooner, with devastating effects.Bad:Currently MP is twitchy. The P2P system needs some tweaking and THQ is working on it soon. That being said, there are.

I thought about purchasing Space Marine (SM) for a month or so. I’ve played several fps (e.g. Red Faction, Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty) and pegged SM as a product at the mid/lower end of the spectrum. Fortunately I was wrong. First I’ll discuss my thoughts on the campaign, then I’ll address multiplayer.Normally, I don’t care for the campaign aspect of fps, but I could picture myself replaying it after beating it. Some fps games are quite tedious at the hardest levels in terms of remebering to be at a certain location at a certain time with a certain weapon in order to beat the few enemies that prevent you from reaching a checkpoint. SM does a good job at not putting players through this. Instead, success is more a factor of managing larger and larger hordes of enemies rushing you. I prefer this because there’s a greater adrenaline rush…the more traditional design feels like I’m playing chess which I find boring.Multiplayer is always the determining factor on whether I deem a game a good purchase. SM has two game types: annihilation (like ‘team deathmatch’ in COD) and seize ground (like ‘domination’ in COD). At first, I thought this was a liability. Then I realized that +90% of online players play these game types anyway. Not only that, but other game types (e.g. Headquarters, Demolition in COD) tend to require higher tactical skill levels, which most players don’t exercise, and that results in blowouts more often than not. Getting spawn trapped is mitigated by givi.
