If you’re looking for a new 3ds game, this is a good place to start. As with all games, I would read up and watch videos of them before hand to really make sure it interests you.The in-game tutorials can get you started, but don’t really explore the depth of the game quite enough. If you want to excel, guides online are the way to go; of course, learning the intricacies of the game by yourself is a satisfying feeling but can be frustrating at times, especially with the stronger and trickier monsters. The (melee) combat in this game from my experience is a lot like Dark Souls. If you like that game, this might be up your alley. The single-player is fun, but a lot of the difficult/rewarding content is in the multiplayer guild quests. Convince your friends, or look for new ones to play with online to maximize your experience with this game.

382 hours. 382 hours was spent playing this game.It has been 382 hours of fun, excitement, enjoyment, teamwork, challenges, and crazy fun!For the offline, you have a great story. Have no fear if you are new to monster hunter, for the story and tutorial is blended amazingly well. You will watch yourself grow as you progress through the story, and it truly feels rewarding. Then there is the online. Oh the online…This is by far the best online experience you could get off your 3DS. Not only is there an offline story, but there is a bit of online story as well. Its like two experiences crammed into one game. And playing with friends is one that will fill you with memories. You will laugh as they catch on fire, and save them right before they faint. It is an experience that is worth trying.Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate took everything that has made the series amazing, and made it even better. There is no denying that I will only add more to those 382 hours as I continue to enjoy the game with my friends.

Easily a console shop for the Nintendo 3DS. Minor complaints is this game is best enjoyed on the new 3ds or with the circle pad attachment.Otherwise, this game suffers similar control problems like the PSP versionsHowever introduction of lock-on compensates adequately.Graphics: Not great visually, but runs very smoothly. 3DS and 3DS XL there are some FPS drops in the town. New 3DS XL, runs smoothlyGameplay: Amazing. There’s definitely a steep learning curve. The game helps by offering relatively easy single player quests. There are tutorial missions for learning how to use the numerous weapons in the game.

My son seems to love it — although he’s gotten pretty frustrated with it, it’s apparently pretty challenging! Multiplayer also didn’t work until we opened some ports on our router, which was a bit tricky (our home network is pretty involved). Surprised they don’t have a way around that for a dedicated gaming device designed for/often used by kids. Anyhow, challenging, lots of depth and gameplay hours. Not for the easily discouraged :) but seems to push the 3DS to its maximum, which is really neat.

Firstly, has to be noted that this game is enhanced by the New 3DS, I dunno why there’s any argument with this with anyone. There’s a noticeable difference in both framerate and texture quality and there’s screenshot comparisons you can find online. Shadow quality is better as well, it’s a very obvious jump. The use of the analog …nub, is also welcomed as it lets you look around much easier than the wonky touch-screen d-pad. So yes, the game despite not being exclusive to the N3DS is factually enhanced in both performance and graphical fidelity. This is the first Monster Hunter game I’ve played since Freedom Unite on the PSP, I gotta say this game really stomps that version. It’s a lot easier to move around- in a good way. You climb much faster up ivy & small cliffs, you’re not scrambling to get up anymore, the character will hop up quickly. Overall you feel less clunky without removing that Monster Hunter feel. The game is more easily accessed in single player too as they made a single player mode for you to go through that is entirely separate from the multiplayer. The story isn’t anything to note, however the events that happen are really crazy, fighting a monster on a sand boat? That’s pretty awesome. The weapon variety seems unchanged but instead refined to work better. Combat feels more fast and the areas more large and interesting. Monster fights are crazy and exciting, now you can jump on their backs in an attempt to knock them over for your party to get a few free sec.

The best entry of my favorite mobile franchise. 100s of hours of gameplay. Much better than MH3U, which was my least favorite. A return to the more classic monster design, inspired by insect, dragon or dinosaur monsters. Weighty, deliberate, tactical combat. 14 weapon types, each feeling very different. A reduction in the more tedious parts of the game is very welcome. For example, you can now create item as well as equipment sets, reducing the chance of forgetting a critical item when going on a hunt as well as lessening the busywork of sorting through your 100s of items. The difficulty feels harder than MH3U, but easier than MHFU. With smoother pacing and better tutorials for new players.Built in multiplayer, funny dialog, more towns, more quests. Hilarious cat companions with very useful skills. There is now a random loot component as well as the traditional crafted loot to compete with western designs like diablo. More interesting farming mini-games, more story elements, more high quality cutscenes. If you like your games long and deep, this one has legs for days.

Got it as a gift for my spouse about 9-10 months ago. Now that he has played it all, I asked for his rating. This was the conversation:Him: “4 stars. Good game.”Me: “Why 4 stars instead of 5?”Him: “I don’t know. Not the game of the year.”So there you have it. Whatever that means.

Monster hunter. Awesome as always but this game. This game itself is just amazing like i mean so crazy good. They added many move mechanics and better monsters to fight which is somewhat difficult but making this online makes hunting so much easier and fun! Sure maybe people online could be bad and lose the quest for you but not everyone is a gamer or start off great. This game is just great. I cant stop putting it down. This rules over all monster hunter games in the US today. This game brings in new armor sets, new mechanics, new quests like i dont know what else to say. Like it’s so fun.

I didn’t know the Monster Hunter games before buying this one, so I was a newbie in Monster Hunter world. I can tell you this game is GREAT. Hours and hours of play, very addictive and the gameplay is really good. If you are a beginner like me, don’t worry, everything is explained in the game step by step with a lot of tutorials. Nevertheless note the game is not easy. It’s not ‘hard’ but challenging. So be ready for hours of hunting and challenges :)I think this is one of the best games on 3DS that exist. The game is supposed to be better for the New 3DS, but I play it on my 3DS XL and I never had any difficulties or noticed low performance, so if you have a 3DS and not a New 3DS, it’s definitively not a problem, you can buy and enjoy Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate!!

This is my first Monster Hunter game, and I have to say it made it pretty easy to learn the ropes. I’m sure most people already know, but I initially wasn’t aware that this wasn’t your typical RPG, namely that you upgrade your equipment rather than gaining levels and skills. However, although I thought it wouldn’t be as fun, I found myself really enjoying it just as much as the standard RPG. One thing it has over games like Final Fantasy or Persona is that grinding has more of a purpose, as you need monster materials to craft better weapons. The part that I really have enjoyed so far is the expanse of information that goes into this game. You can definitely play through it without ever looking things up and just hacking away at things, but I really like the weapon designs so of course I look up which weapons not only look the best, but perform as well. The weapon trees expand so far that it’s hard to just pick which one you want to use in the end. That, and there are so many weapon types, each with their own nuances.I’m not too far into the game yet, so I don’t know how much more on the content I can review. I will say I find the dialogue a little boring, and it doesn’t help that the voices are in some kind of gibberish rather than any known language. Is this something that is consistent in all the MH games? I also turn the volume off when I’m buying stuff from the shops. You can only listen to a shopkeep saying "Hi!" (or "Hrii!") every couple seconds for so lo.
