This has been one of my favorite games so far on the Vita and I dropped over 130 hours into it. It was a little slow for me to get into at first but in no time I was completely engaged. The graphic style, movement, combat all seemed just right for the game and was fluid. It can be a little daunting and confusing at times so here’s a suggestion – for those who find it tough to get into or feel like they are wandering around too much Google a guide to max out all social links. Without giving away anything there are a TON of links, each with their own story, plus a lot of hidden extra parts of the game. The guide might help you flow through what is a really engaging, funny, and unique story. IMO doing this won’t really take away that much (it didn’t have a spoiler feel to it for me) and you’re still free to fight, level, gear-up, create personas, etc. pretty much as you wish. If you’re on the fence this is one of those games worth taking a chance on.

I went through the effort of getting a PS Vita almost solely for the sake of playing this game, because I have a lot of love for the original P4 game, and for P3P before it, and I’ve got to say it was absolutely worth it. This game comes with LOADS more content, not just in terms of the extra months of gameplay you get at the end, but all the new characters, features, and mini cutscenes you get right from the beginning! If you like P4, this game is absolutely worth buying for the extra content, even if you’ve played through P4 before, as I have.

For some reason I could never get into the Persona series. I tried them, then it would almost immediately be decided that this style of JRPG just wasn’r for me. Then, when Persona 3 went on special, I decided to give it another try. After 96 hours later, I was hooked! When I heard of P4G, I just couldn’t believe it. Immediately I felt at home. The presentation, the colors, the sound track, the characters and the relationships (Social Links), and the mystery story, all come together perfectly to make a truly engrossing experience. Sure, it definetely helps if you are a fan of JRPG’s (lots of grinding), slice of life social sims (every day life) and definetely Anime in general (all the usual tropes surface). I definetely recommend this title as it perfectly fits in a mobile environment. Finally I put away buyer’s remorse for my VITA.

I’ve never been a huge fan of JRPGs, but I have been blown away by this game. The story, character depth, gameplay, and music are awesome. I can’t believe the developers were able to cram so much into a vita game. This game alone justifies owning a Vita. It took me a while to figure out how everything with the Personas worked and almost accidentally got rid of some of the high level ones, but eventually got it sorted. As a hobbyist game developer, this is the sort of game I’m always striving to make.

Never played any of the persona games, and after reading several reviews I decided to give it a shot. I will say that the tutorial and opening scene too long, it is a good 4-5 hours into the game before you do any real playing, but to the games defense, without that intro and an new comer to the series, i don’t think i would have understood the game or gotten hooked into the game like I am now. It is an RPG, there is a lot of logic and planning that takes place and even now I am worried I may be going down a path that will be hard for me to get myself out of. You will get your monies worth out of this game as I am 30 hours into the game and don’t see an ending anywhere in sight. If you like RPGs, I think you will love this. It is very complex, took me a while to catch on to what I should be doing. I don’t this this is a kids game, some adult humor but mostly it would be hard for a kid to figure out the mechanics.

Maybe like me, you have never played a JRPG before. What is a JRPG? A Japanese Role Playing Game. I thought, "Meh. Those games are weird." I like my shooters and racing games and basically EVERY. OTHER. GENRE.But I got this on sale, and gave it a try…A month or two later, I had beaten the game. Twice. Don’t ask. And I’m currently having staring contests with my Vita (Vita means life!) about starting another playthrough. This game has a story with characters you’ll care about. A dynamic that rewards you based on the relationships you form in the game. Like making friends? Before you know it, you’ll be friends all right. Friends with Yosuke, Yukiko, Chie, Rise, Kanji and Naoto. You just may want to visit Japan to see if Inaba really exists. I will neither confirm nor deny having those feelings myself. Prepare to ask Atlus for your life back as well. Or just to ask them to hurry up with Persona 5 already.

Like the title says, this game is better than all the Final Fantasy games and other Vita games I’ve played so far. When I saw the cover, I thought it’d just be another Akiba’s Trip RPG disappointment, so I didn’t start the game first when I got a huge stash of new games. Ohhh what a mistake I made! There are plenty of detailed reviews on how good this game is, but what struck me most:-Detailed graphics (steam, fog, character expressions) paired with detailed audio (love the music, sounds from the smallest actions and objects like birds, walking, eating, opening doors)-Character voicing!!! Almost 80% of all dialogue is voiced by voice actors! Love!! *_*-Costume change-In-between animations-Lots of customization in terms of fighting-LOTS of things to do in the game to keep you busy (Almost like a real life)-Multiple endings-Well-constructed story line and deep character relationships-Long game (Finished the game in 60hrs)-NG+ featuresI felt so sad when the game ended because I felt like I really had a bond with all the characters and I really went through a lot with them. You know that feeling when you finish a game and you feel like you have all the time in the world suddenly–almost a sense of emptiness? Yeah, that’s what I got after finishing it. I really hope they make Persona 4 Arena available for the Vita and continue to make future Persona games (similar to Golden’s setup) for the console.Get this game! You won’t regret it!!!

I’ve heard a ton of great things about the Persona series, and P4Golden was my first Persona game. This game was SO FRIGGIN’ AWESOME it made me go play Persona 3 (portable version, it’s great btw). But Persona 4 Golden is a system shop, and easily worth the around 80 hour experience. Trust me, it’ll fly by. First off, Golden is a remaster of Persona 4 for the PS2; I personally didn’t play the original, but from what I’ve seen, Golden has better graphics, and added scenes, which are basically just fun trips to the beach or ski mountain. But, regarding the story, it’s a murder mystery that takes place in a small town which you visit for a year. You’ll make social links with friends and party members, and these social links increase as you spend time with friends. But yeah, the mystery is fun and has MANY twists, and will leave you thinking. The game itself looks great, and it has animated scenes that look great. The music is AMAZING. It sounds great; it can be cheery, sad, and creepy. The gameplay is classic turn-based battles, and it’s kinda like pokemon. You can attack regularly, but your Personas have elements that can be used to weaken enemies and deal more damage. Take advantage of it. But, in the end, Persona 4 Golden is an amazing game, and you should totally play it!

Coming off the exciting adventure of Persona 5, I decided to pick up this title, Persona 4 Golden. Its one of the best rpgs, and for a reason. most RPGs with turn-based combat are often tedious due to how they always require the player to use the same tactics and redundantly engage in encounters, often out of their ability to predict, Persona 4 Golden however, allows your combat to evolve, and gives breathers with its visual novel identity, having a social system with great characters that are timeless and loveable. It does familiars better than pokemon ever did, having a compendium and the ability to customize your personas much more. The combat can get a bit repetitive, even with breaks, but they are still enjoyable. The story is great, having a mystery element that makes the player think. Its just a great game, play it. I don’t think the game is as good as Persona 5 due to the lesser immersion, style, lore, and combat depth, but its still an amazing game.

This title offers a lot for the price tag, and the portability of it is all the more convenient. First off, the world and characters are all beautifully designed and written; the amount of player choice in the game (albeit later on after you fight Chie’s shadow) is staggering; and the story is incredibly engrossing from the beginning to the end. The combat is simple enough for anyone to understand and it’s very satisfying to knock down your enemies then go in for a closing attack. However, the game is riddled with random trivia questions that you can only get a benefit from by picking the correct answer. Also, despite the fact that the overall combat system is well polished and fun, it gets boring as randomly generated dungeons vastly overstay their welcomes. In addition, the dungeon themes also get boring because each floor uses the exact same palette, making every floor look identical. Each dungeon has about 10 floors, and each floor takes about 10 minutes, give or take, so it takes about an hour and a half to complete one dungeon. It becomes even more tedious when you’re grinding for quest items and experience. Also, because the game is so vast, it’s hard to be efficient on your first play through without a guide. That, I feel, takes away some of the fun of the game. Because the game is so long, some people may not want to start a new game plus to get the good ending if they didn’t get it the first time around, and the conditions to get the good ending are not readily appare.
